The Off White Back Strap Faux Fur Lined Mule Slippers are miraculously still in stock in sizes 3-9 (Image: Zoe Cripps)Despite being a shopping editor, I don’t actually shop for myself that often. I have what I’d call a carefully curated wardrobe, and I pride myself on not falling for the social media hype around certain items that I’ll only wear a few times. However, when UGG’s Goldenstar Clogs popped up on my TikTok feed, I knew my feet were crying out for them. The issue is, they’ve been sold out in every size except for a 3 in the sand shade that I’m desperate to get my hands on. I’ve had stock alerts set up for weeks, but it seems these clogs aren’t making a comeback anytime soon. If you’re okay with the darker tan shade, though, there are limited sizes available. I would much rather have the original ones, but I’ve been forced to scour the internet for a similar style, and I’ve found one, quite unexpectedly, in a pair from New Look. The Off White Back Strap Faux Fur Lined Mule Slippers are miraculously still available in sizes 3-9 and offer a similar UGG vibe for a fraction of the price. The Goldenstar Clogs will cost you £125 (if you’re lucky enough to snag a pair), while New Look’s version is a wallet-friendly £22.99, reports the Mirror.

In a nutshell, both pairs of shoes offer a handy backstrap to prevent the mules from slipping off, a rounded toe design, soft fabric and chunky soles. However, it’s clear that the New Look pair is more suited for indoor wear. The fabric isn’t waterproof, and the fur-lined interior is more about comfort than sweat absorption, but they’re perfect for running errands on a dry day. I’m still planning to snap up the UGGs as soon as they’re back in stock because I want a pair that will last me until at least next spring. But in the meantime, I’m thrilled to have the New Look pair. I’ve struggled to find many other alternatives to the Goldenstar online trust me, I’ve searched but the Walk London Barca Clog Mules were my runner-up. Priced at £75, they’re definitely more of a shoe than a slipper, featuring a neutral sand shade and a backstrap design like the UGG pair I’m after.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
