In stunning new photos, Stacey Solomon reveals she’s gone back to blonde to marry Joe Swash – and most incredible of all, she dyed it herself at home. While most brides-to-be opt for the salon chair, Stacey, 32, has taken the DIY route with a £10 L’Oréal Paris box dye and at the same time unveiled herself as the latest celebrity face of the beauty brand. Now that’s worth it, as big bridal surprises go! Very aptly, the beautiful DIY transformation took place at her Essex family home of Pickle Cottage, the same place where Stacey and Joe, 40, will say “I do” in days. Having already had her most recent red hair dye stripped out, Stacey took to the bathroom for her bridal hair makeover. Yesterday she was seen on her Instagram Stories rinsing freshly chestnut locks in the sink, leaving many watchers to assume she’d gone back to brunette for her nuptials. Wrong!

The dye she actually went on to use is L’Oreal Paris Préférence Hair Colour in shade 9.12, £9.99 here, a cool light ash beige blonde, which perfectly explains with her comment to fans earlier in the week. She told her 5.3m Instagram followers: “I’m just trying to get it back to my colour that reminds me of me, like, not my childhood colour but what my colour was like when I was little because I don’t know why.” “I change my hair all the time which I LOVE but for this day in my life I just wanted it to be as soft and natural as possible even though it’s defo not natural.” Now, sharing the incredible finished result, the new L’Oréal gal says: “I love home dye kits because they’re so easy and affordable when you fancy a new look. I’m really excited to be blonde again.”

Although taking on a DIY colour transformation for your wedding might sound like a daunting option, Stacey has already proved she’s a dab hand with a L’Oréal box dye. Back in November last year, when her regular hairdresser was on maternity leave, Stacey gave herself a stunning red hair transformation using L’Oréal Paris Preference in Bright Red, £6.99 here. It led to over 750,000 likes on Instagram, as well as her being snapped up by the beauty giant as its new spokesmodel. Doubtless the endless compliments she received on her red hair makeover – with many comparing her to Ariel from the Little Mermaid – helped give her the confidence to revisit the skill for her nuptials.

Now Stacey is going to look like a princess once again when she finally walks down the aisle to marry TV star Joe, a ceremony that was postponed after she fell pregnant with their daughter Rose. Organising the big day has been a true labour of love for Stacey, who’s taken on so many of the preparations herself for the home ceremony. At the same time her hair was wrapped up for her bridal beauty transformation, the multi-tasking star was seen overseeing the gorgeous “Greek Island” wedding flower decorations at Pickle Cottage.
