‘I gave my BFF my little-known perfume for her wedding she still uses it now’ (Image: ZarkoPerfume)As an unmarried woman, I never truly understood the significance of a wedding day perfume until my best friend began planning her nuptials. Three years ago, she embarked on a quest to find the perfect scent, only to be let down by the common ‘over-used’ fragrances from big names like Chloé and Dior. She felt none were quite…special? As a beauty journalist, I’m lucky enough to have a decent collection of perfumes. I also get a sneak peek at some fragrance launches that don’t always hit the consumer market. A prime example is my all-time favourite brand: ZarkoPerfume. Established in Denmark in 2008, it had a fleeting presence on SpaceNK here in the UK before largely disappearing from mainstream retailers. Anyway, I’ve been a fan of Zarko’s Pink Molecule (my ultimate favourite perfume) and MOLeCULE 234 EDP for years, so when my best friend expressed her desire for something unique, I knew it was my duty as maid of honour to introduce her to one of them. I chose MOLeCULE 234, and she fell in love with it at first spritz.

Typically priced around £113 for a 100ml bottle, you can get it online for £61.94 in the sale, reports the Mirror. Describing the scent of molecular fragrances is challenging, but I’ll give it a shot. When sprayed on your skin, Molecule interacts with your own pheromones, creating a scent that’s unique to you. On me, it smells clean, fresh, slightly woody and a touch powdery. I’d describe it as a romantic perfume, making it an ideal choice for weddings. My best friend discovered the perfect scent combo by using this and then adding a spritz of Jo Malone’s Peony and Blush Suede, £55, to give the Zarko fragrance a slight floral lift. I’m not certain how long stocks of Pink Molecule and MOLeCULE 234 will last as the brand seems to be exiting the UK, but if you fancy the idea of a molecular perfume that smells unique on your skin compared to others, I can also suggest Escentric Molecules Molecule 01, £115, which operates in a similar way to blend with your pheromones to create a distinctive aroma.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
