Privacy NoticeDavid Tennant and his wife of 13 years, Georgia Moffett, shared a sweet moment on the BAFTAs red carpet, ahead of his presenting duties at the awards ceremony on 18 February. The 52 year old Doctor Who actor and his 39 year old wife didn’t have a care in the world who saw them as they shared a tender embrace, with David planting a kiss on Georgia’s lips. They then stared into one another’s eyes, with David grinning from ear to ear, before they held hands and had a chat. David looked dapper in an emerald suit, printed with gold patterns, whilst Georgia coordinated his look in a stunning Grecian-inspired gold dress. This weekend, David is hosting the 77th British Academy Film Awards. The event will be broadcast from London’s Royal Festival Hall and can be watched on BBC One from 7pm on Sunday night. He’ll be mingling with A-list stars as big Hollywood films like Oppenheimer and Killer of the Flower Moon compete for awards.

It was actually Georgia who made the first move, as she previously admitted on a podcast interview that she messaged David “400 times a day”, whilst David admitted on the same podcast that he felt marrying her was “a bit stupid”. Speaking on the Gaby Roslin podcast, he said: “I thought we were an unlikely life partnership, there was a bit of an age gap. Because Doctor Who had run through my life like a stick of rock, to end up marrying the daughter of one of the doctors, it all felt a bit stupid… so there were a lot of things against it.”

But Georgia saw things differently, as she said on the podcast: “You couldn’t quite believe that’s why I was messaging you 400 times a day. You thought maybe I was lonely and wanted a chat… I very much fell into stalker category. Thank goodness I did though. I just made a decision, I thought, ‘This is going to be good, let’s do this, I’ll just persevere until he gives in.'” Proposal David proposed to Georgia in 2011, and they got married the same year. He discussed the proposal on the Jonathan Ross show, where he explained: “I wrapped up a big box in Christmas paper and there was another box inside that and another inside that. She didn’t get it. It was weird. She was going through [the boxes] by box 10, she still hadn’t figured out what I was doing. It was great, she opened the last box and it worked! She said ‘Yes’, thankfully!” Children

David and Georgia Tennant share five children between them. Georgia is mum to a 21 year old son, name Ty, who starred on HBO’s Game of Thrones as the young Aegon II Targaryen. After David and Georgia got married, David adopted Ty, and he now bears the Tennant surname. The couple share four children together, Olive, 12, Wilfred, ten, Doris, eight, and Birdie, four. In 2019, after the birth of Birdie, David spoke about his experience as a father on a TV show. He said: “[I have] five [children now] it’s quite a lot, it’s a sofa full! It is great. It’s a lot of work but there’s nothing like it really. The baby is nine weeks old now so you’re just getting that thing where you look and get a smile back.
