I want all: length, lift, volume, definition without any clumping or smudging throughout the day – and I find that very few can meet these expectations. One of my go-to favourites, and one that I keep coming back to, is Gucci’s Mascara L’Obscur. With its barrel-shaped silicone brush and (in my opinion) the ideal formula, it just makes my lashes look really great, and seems to improve the longer it’s been open. However, at £31, it’s one of the more expensive mascaras on the market – but I think I’ve discovered a fantastic alternative for a fraction of the cost. L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Panorama Mascara was introduced earlier this year, reports the Mirror, and I confess that initially, I wasn’t particularly impressed by it. It was okay, yes, but nothing that would make me switch from my current favourite. However, after taking it with me on a few short trips away to save me from carrying my pricey mascara, I quickly fell in love with it. With a multi-size silicone brush that reaches every lash and a flexible formula to really stretch them up and out, this mascara makes the eyes appear 1.4 times larger (according to L’Oréal), while remaining smudge-proof all day. I found that it ticked all the boxes: it provides excellent volume and length, coats every millimetre of every lash, and keeps the hairs lifted and locked in place all day long without flaking or smudging.
