To the point where you sometimes even tell yourself, “I must be psychic”? Well, there could be some truth in that. Debbie Malone, a respected psychic for more than 30 years, believes that each and every one of us can tune in to our spiritual side. “We’re all born psychic”, she says. “It’s about learning to connect to your intuition and trusting gut feelings as messages.” Debbie has used her ‘third eye’ on numerous occasions – including to crack crimes. “I’ve helped solve murders,” she says. “I also saw my babies before they were born, told my son where he’d meet his future wife and what she’d look like, and I use it for everyday errands. I can speak to angels and ask them to make sure I get a parking spot when shopping.” Handy! Nearly one in four of us are turning to psychics for guidance as we face difficult times. If you are keen to know what the future holds or whether a departed loved one has a message for you, follow Debbie’s guide to accessing your own psychic powers.

Choose a sacred space Just as important as how you tune in is where you tune in. “This might just be a special chair or your bed, or even a place in your mind,” explains Debbie. “Having that area will send out clear signals to the spiritual world that you’re open to messages. “It can become your sacred space. If it’s a physical space, enhance it with items that may strengthen your connection to the spirit world, such as crystals and angel statues. “Make it comfortable with cosy blankets or plenty of cushions.”
Debbie advises making a sacred space
Remove negativity “It’s important to rid your sacred space of negative energy – you don’t want just any spirit contacting you. “You can do this by lighting a candle in each corner of the room, allowing them to burn until they extinguish, burning incense, such as sandalwood, lavender and sage, and reciting affirmations, asking negative energies or entities to leave for good. Chanting ‘om’ helps to cleanse a room.” Advanced tip: “Visualise the roof above your space disappearing. Using your mind’s eye (the part of your brain that allows you to use your imagination), look up and visualise the clouds above. Feel yourself lifting up into the clouds and feel totally at peace. “Ask your spirit team to help you to cleanse your sacred space and bless it with love and guidance.”

Start to believe Stay vigilant for little signs of proof every day: Feathers, especially white ones: “These commonly appear from nowhere to let you know that your guardian angels, loved ones and spiritual helpers are nearby. They give us reassurance that we’re on the right path and we’re not alone.” Cloud gazing: “Ask questions about your life situations and the answers will be shown in the clouds. Be patient and the signs from above will appear. You may even see heart-shaped clouds letting you know how much you’re loved.” Angel signs: “When we are in times of great sorrow and distress, our angels can subtly present themselves through sensation and touch. The warm feeling envelops your entire being, like a hug. Or you might feel a gentle breeze passing by you, as if a living person just walked by.” Connect with loved ones Debbie believes lost loved ones can guide us. “Go to your sacred space with a photo or belonging of your loved one, a journal and a pen,” she says. “Light a candle. Think back to your most vivid experience with them. Write down how much you love and miss them.” “Pause for a moment and consider everything you wish you’d said to them before they passed, or the experiences you’ve had since. Now, stare at the candle flame. It may jump and flicker before your eyes. Your loved one may even appear before your eyes within the light of the flame. Concentrate on any messages they may be giving you.” Look into the future “Put on some nice, relaxing music and do a guided meditation,” says Debbie. “You can find these on YouTube. Once you’ve completed it, write your question for the day in a journal, or the message you want to get today. For example, ‘I want to know I’ll be OK on my own and I’ll know this is the case if I see the word ‘love.’
