Privacy NoticeGerman football manager Thomas Tuchel is gearing up to become the head coach of the England team, a job he’ll start in January 2025. Thomas was revealed on Tuesday 15 October as Gareth Southgate’s replacement, and hopefully his complex love life won’t get in the way of the game. Thomas, 51, had been married to Sissi for 13 years, and the pair share two daughters, but announced they were getting divorced in 2022. Just two months later it was revealed Thomas was already back on the dating scene when he was spotted with Brazilian Natalie Max – who is 13 years his junior. The pair were later seen on a private yacht in Sardinia.

Sissi had worked as a journalist for the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. She met Thomas in Germany before getting married in 2009, Sissi gave up her job to raise their two young daughters, Emma and Kim. The family followed Thomas through his career, moving to France when he managed Paris Saint-Germain. And when Thomas moved to Chelsea, the family moved to England in 2021. Sissi hasn’t always been present at his football matches, but was seen running across the pitch and into her husband’s arms after Chelsea’s 1-0 Champions League win over Manchester City in 2021. A year later Sissi filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. Thomas’ new girlfriend, Natalie is a mother of two, she’s a director at consulting agency Natexo and 13 years younger than the new England manager.

The England football team’s X bio reads: “The Thomas Tuchel era begins in January.” On becoming the new leader of the Three Lions, Thomas wrote on social media: “I am very proud to have been given the honour of leading the England team. I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already. “To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.”

Thomas continued to write: “Working closely with Anthony [Barry] as my assistant coach, we will do everything we can to make England successful and the supporters proud.
