Whether you want a little bit of London luxury, or want somewhere a little more affordable as base then we’ve got you covered. The Gantry, Stratford A stone’s throw from Stratford’s busy Westfield centre is this destination hotel that falls under the Hilton umbrella. The relatively new hotel (they celebrated their 1st birthday in November with a glitzy party soundtracked by Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding DJ – Fat Tony) has a coffee house, bar, and two restaurants.

One of those being STK – the steakhouse has an impressive reputation for mixing fine dining with a party atmosphere with locations already in Ibiza, Las Vegas and London’s Westminster with all manner of celebrities sitting down for a bite including Eva Longoria, TOWIE’s Yazmin Oukhellou and Molly-Mae Hague. When it’s time for bed you’ll be impressed by the spacious design of the rooms, and the shower. Please can we take a moment for the shower. Never has washing my hair been such a joyous experience thanks to the rainfall head and large cubicle. Plus, the chaise longue means you can feel like Rose, when she was painted by Jack in the Titanic.

Room prices start from £200 Book at thegantrylondon.com Tribe, Canary Wharf If you’ve got business in Canary Wharf, then firstly, how fancy – go you! Secondly, you should stay at Tribe – the only hotel based in the heart of London’s business district. The rooms have a New York apartment vibe with exposed concrete ceilings, simple interiors and golden details. If you’re looking to get a bit of work done in your room, or just want to read the OK! website (who can blame you) then there’s a lovely desk too. Each room has plenty of light thanks to the floor to ceiling windows, where you can enjoy views of London and we particularly enjoyed getting a bird’s eye view of the construction work currently underway. That is not us being sarcastic – when you can’t hear building work, it’s very relaxing to watch!
Each room comes equipped with its own desk
For dinner, the Feels like June restaurant on the ground floor offers Californian inspired dishes, and there’s plenty more on your doorstep. Canary Wharf is dubbed the 15 minute city and is not hard to see why – hundreds of bars and restaurants are ready to welcome you at any time. May the odds be in your favour if you plan to visit the shopping centre because that place is a true maze.
Feels like June is California inspired
Just a small note, there are no phones in the rooms, and the reception doesn’t offer any toiletries for forgetful travellers like me. As a result I found myself dressed in PJs and a big coat visiting the local Amazon Fresh store at 10:30pm to buy toothpaste and cotton pads. Don’t be like me. Room prices start from £169 Book at mytribehotel.com Pan Pacific London, Liverpool Street The hotel brand was originally founded in Singapore, and the London establishment has kept that original luxurious aesthetic. You may be just two minutes away from London’s busy Liverpool Street station, but when you step inside their doors it’s effortlessly calm. And if you’re not feeling the zen, go up a few levels and visit their gym and spa facilities.
The Pan Pacific has its own spa
The on-site restaurant Straits Kitchen stays true to their South East Asian origin, with a menu celebrating Singapore’s many cultures. The Char Kway Teow noodles (£24) are a must, while admiring the impressive views which includes pretty much all the London landmarks you see on the opening credits of The Apprentice.
The hotel boasts impressive views
The rooms have a slick and modern interior, with no distractions from a good night’s sleep. But look closer for some cute homely touches including a china teapot, complimentary chocolates housed in a wooden box and vintage London guide books. The toiletries were next level fancy – we’re talking Diptyque shampoo and conditioner – and so returning to my Home Bargains loot was a firm return to earth. And of course the bathroom is decked out in Italian marble.
The decor is influenced by the hotel’s Singapore roots

Talking of which, you’ll find a king-sized bed and plenty of funky decor in the French founded hotel chain. Art-deco carpets and duck lampshades create a unique look, which will have people commenting ‘Where are you?!’ under your Instagram posts.
