The 31 year old former One Direction star met with a devastating end after falling from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening. Liam had been active on social media just before the incident, sharing his daily plans with fans on Snapchat. At the Casa Sur Hotel, the head of reception placed two urgent calls to 911 for assistance, reporting that a guest was ‘completely high on drugs and wreaking havoc in his room. ‘ Local news outlet LA NACION noted that a disoriented Liam made his way to the hotel lobby, where concerned staff urged him to return to his room shortly before the fatal fall was heard.

Hotel guests have been recounting their encounters with Liam prior to the tragic event. Michael Fleischmann, one guest, described how Liam appeared ‘slightly wild,’ arguing with an unidentified woman regarding money matters right before plummeting from the balcony. The American guest recalled hearing Liam insist to the woman, “I’ll give you $20,000 (£15,311) dollars just because I can. I have $55 million and I like to help people,” reports the Mirror. He mentioned that this conversation took place around 2pm local time, with the hotel manager acting as an interpreter between Liam and the Spanish-speaking woman. Speaking to the Buenos Aires Herald, Fleischmann revealed that he only recognised the man ‘with an English accent who seemed to be causing a disturbance’ in the hotel lobby as the One Direction singer after news of his death broke. He described the singer as appearing ‘very upset, agitated, a little wild, walking around and pacing’, while also being ‘very energised.’ Another guest at the hotel, who goes by the name Rebecca (not her real name), told MailOnline that during a 30-minute chat with him, he confessed to her “I’m so f***ed up”. In an interview, Rebecca shared that Liam’s “bizarre” final moments have left her feeling shaken.

She disclosed how he ‘wanted to get recognised’ while in the lobby. He later returned to the lobby with a laptop and started reading emails for everyone to see. Rebecca remembered seeing the singer open an email that “obviously upset him”. “Suddenly he took the computer, shouted ‘f**k this s**t mate! ‘ and started smashing the computer on the ground,” she added. Rebecca said that the staff and guests inside the posh hotel were really taken aback, so she went over to check if the distressed star was alright. “But he just kind of grunted,” was Liam’s response to her concern, according to Rebecca. “Then he said ‘I used to be in a boyband. That’s why I’m so f**ked up’.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
