Privacy NoticeFormer Britain’s Got Talent child stars Bars and Melody have announced they have split up, to the disappointment of their fans. The duo, friends Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenehan, announced their final tour to their million followers on Instagram with a video in which they chatted about their journey. “Just over 10 years ago we had one small idea and a big dream,” Charlie began, as Leondre continued: “It’s been the most incredible journey and even though Bars and Melody is coming to an end, we will still continue and try and change the world for the better. When Bars and Melody was created we found people in the world we never would have found without it, and that’s you guys.” They also posted a second video, announcing the dates of their final tour and sharing clips of their 10 years as performers. “It’s time for one last adventure together,” Charlie said. “We want to thank you for all the love and support over the years, you have been the best fans anyone could ask for,” Leondre added. “Let’s make this final tour special, a memory that will last a lifetime. We cannot wait to share this final chapter with you,” Charlie said, as the band promised some surprises on the tour for fans. Their followers were quick to comment, with one writing: “I literally cried watching this. Uou guys helped me go through primary school. I remember when I saw your performance on BGT. Leo mentioned that he was bullied at school. I had the same experience. I listened to you, crying into my pillow, feeling understood by someone who had experienced what I had, and who also loved music as much.” Another added: “You have come so far guys and should be very proud of everything you have accomplished,” while a third wrote: “Been here since day one and you will always be my people. I am so proud of how far you have come and I hope you have the best time on your final tour. I’m going to sob so I’ll just say all the best my boys. Thank you for everything.”

The popular duo were first seen on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, when they went to the semi finals of the talent show after Simon Cowell pressed his Golden Buzzer. They got as far as the final, but lost to boy band Collabro. Charlie and Leondre released their first single, an acoustic version of their BGT audition song Hopeful, in July of the same year, where it went to number five in the UK charts and number two in Japan. The song was based on Faith Evans’ single Hope, but featured lyrics written by Leondre that were about bullying. Bars and Melody have been releasing music and touring ever since, and also competed in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions. Charlie was 16 and Leondre was 14 when they began the band, and now a decade later they look very different, with Charlie sporting neck and arm tattoos. He’s also now a dad, to two year old daughter Delilah. Their final tour starts in September and will take them to venues in Europe, the UK and Japan.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
