Privacy NoticeFollowing the news of Lauryn Goodman losing her case against Kyle Walker, the footballer has issued a strongly worded statement. The pair were embroiled in a legal war regarding their children that resulted in a two-day court battle over childcare arrangements. It was revealed then that 33 year old Lauryn lost against her ex, who she shares two children with – son Kairo, four, and daughter Kinara, one. Now, a spokesperson for Kyle Walker said: “This judgement speaks for itself in laying bare Lauryn Goodman’s insatiable greed and relentless pursuit of money. The judge made it clear: she used Kyle as an open ended cheque book and repeatedly threatened him in order to get what she wanted. She then orchestrated a media campaign to feed intolerable and wrongful intrusion into the private lives of Kyle, Annie and their young family.

“Throughout each court proceeding the judge stated that Kyle adopted a fair and generous stance. These proceedings were never necessary. Kyle’s offer should have been accepted months ago and would therefore have eliminated the need for added stress to all involved. “In light of this judgement and the truths it makes public, my client and his family now ask that the media fully respects their rights to a private life as they navigate their next steps.”

The judge criticised the Celebs Go Dating star and Honour Judge Edward Hess delivered a judgement, stating that Lauryn had not shown a “good track record of telling the truth” and was often “often difficult, unreasonable and demanding.” The judge dismissed most of Lauryn’s financial demands, which including requesting the court to order Kyle to pay £14,750 a month in “global” child maintenance for their two children, along with tens of thousands for cars, furnishings, property maintenance and other costs such as nursery fees. The Manchester City defender, who also has four sons with his wife, Annie Kilner Walker, opposed some of the demands or argued they should be decreased, telling the court that he was not an “open chequebook” despite earning between £3 million and £5 million per year. In his ruling, Judge Edward Hess dismissed many of Goodman’s demands, concluding that she was “not reliable” while claiming Walker “acted with dignity and generosity”. He said: “Plainly, he (Mr Walker) was embarrassed and remorseful as to the difficult situation in which he has placed a number of people, including all of his children, and regretted his decision-making in trying to keep his paternity of Kinara a secret.

“But he has in my view acted with dignity and generosity, and, once the secret was out, honesty, in facing up to the financial and personal consequences of what happened.” “In contrast, my assessment of the mother is that she was not reliable, often said what she thought would help her case rather than what was true, failed to make a calm and measured assessment of what she needed and often exaggerated her need to spend money.” The judge also took the unusual step of removing the anonymity that’s typically given to cases heard in family court. Lauryn wished to keep the cases details private, but Judge Hess decided privacy wasn’t a priority for her after she attended the Euros with “her son dressed in an England football shirt with the name ‘Daddy’ on the back, and to be willingly photographed.” Kyle tried to hide his paternity of his daughter from his wife and initially met most of Lauryn’s financial demands, including purchasing a £2.4 million home in Sussex. However, the Judge highlighted how Lauryn made tactics threatening to reveal Kyle’s fatherhood of their children if her demands weren’t met and also planned to relocate closer to where Kyle and Annie lived – a move that “horrified” the player. The judge disclosed: “The evidence before me has amply demonstrated that the mother was able to leverage these substantial increases by hinting that she would go public on the paternity issue and also threatening that if she did not get what she wanted she would select a home a stone’s throw away from the father’s family home in Cheshire rather than in Sussex, an idea which she knew horrified the father.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
