The star, who claims she was approached by BBC bosses for the show, revealed her reasons for turning them down. “The one show I did turn down was Strictly Come Dancing. Have you seen the size of me? Dear, I’m 5’10” and about 12 stone. What man’s gonna lift me? I was asked to do it but told them I couldn’t dance for a peanut. I admire those they call on to do it, but it’s not for me,” she began to the Daily Star. She then added another cheeky reason, saying : “I’d rather make love than dance. I’m a passionate woman, very passionate.”

The pair have been husband and wife since 1979 and they reside together in Nantwich, Cheshire. Kim first gained recognition at the age of 61 after becoming a popular face on How Clean is Your House? alongside Aggie MacKenzie. Despite rumours of a long-standing feud between the two, Kim was quick to commend her co-star and express gratitude for their shared time on the show. She further added: “We’re not in touch anymore but we did a series together, and I was very grateful to Ag. We worked from 2003 to 2009 and we both made a great success of the show.” Kim went on to say she was ‘proud’ of the show and joked she was still receiving plenty of royalties.

Following the show, Kim became known as the Queen of Clean, and then found herself in the jungle in 2009, where she finished as runner-up to Gino D’Acampo on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! But her most infamous reality TV stint came when she starred in Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, where she clashed with fellow housemates Nicola McLean, Jamie O’Hara, James Jordan and Coleen Nolan, to name but a few. Talking about the show with OK! back in 2022, Kim said: “That was in 2017 and people still talk to me about it. Even when I go to Tesco, people stop me and say, “Hello, Kim! Ooh, weren’t they rotten in Big Brother?” It’s years later but people still talk to me about it because they could see what I couldn’t.
