Kerry Katona has labelled Stephen Graham ‘fantastic’ after getting hooked on his new Netflix hit, Adolescence. The 44-year-old star, who has been soaking up the sun in Thailand, shared her thoughts in her New! Magazine column as she wrote: “I decided to binge watch Adolescence during a stormy day here in Thailand and I loved it. I think Stephen Graham is a fantastic actor. I’ve met him a few times and he’s always been lovely and so genuine. “He’s a proper Liverpool lad,” she added warmly. She couldn’t help but also hail 15-year-old actor Owen Cooper, for his role, continuing: “Owen Cooper, who plays Stephen’s son in the drama, is an amazing actor too and it’s so impressive that this is his first role.”

The gripping Netflix series delves into the life of teenager Jamie, accused of a peer’s murder, while grappling with serious issues like misogyny, cyberbullying, and the troubling world of incel culture. Stephen, celebrated for his performance in This Is England, embodies Eddie Miller, father of the troubled 13 year old protagonist. With Adolescence making waves, the show’s creators, Stephen and Jack Thorne, have been invited to Parliament for a crucial dialogue with MPs concerning the perils of digital influence and championing improved online safety norms. he invitation follows calls from Jack for Adolescence to be screened in Parliament and schools, a proposal that gained traction during Prime Minister’s Questions when Sir Keir Starmer revealed he had watched the show with his children. The Labour leader acknowledged the urgency of the issue, stating: “This violence carried out by young men, influenced by what they see online, is a real problem, it’s abhorrent, and we have to tackle it.” With a brood of five, Kerry can relate to the impact of the gripping four-part series. She’s mum to her eldest girls Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, from her marriage to Brian McFadden, middle children Heidi, 18, and Max, 16, with ex Mark Croft, and her youngest, DJ, ten, who she shared with her late husband George Kay.

In her column this week, Kerry also touched upon the whirlwind that is overnight fame and the cutthroat nature of the limelight as she threw her support behind Louise Redknapp following her candid chat on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast about not feeling ‘good enough’. Kerry nodded to the struggle of the former Eternal singer, writing: “Louise Redknapp has spoken out about not feeling good enough and losing her confidence when she was in Eternal and I completely understand where she’s coming from. “It’s so difficult in this industry, especially when you’re catapulted to fame in a band like we both were – people start calling you a role model and you’re thinking to yourself, ‘I’m not a role model! I don’t know what I’m doing.'””. Kerry continued: “I’m 44 and I’m still learning about myself, even now. This industry can be a challenge because everyone’s expecting something from you. I sympathise with Louise because I know how it feels. You have to put yourself first and learn not to people please. That’s something I’ve been working on.”
