Privacy Notice Despite undergoing an immensely difficult year, the Princess of Wales has continued to show her support for a number of her charitable causes – albeit it in many different ways. Whether it is by issuing a statement on social media, appearing in a candid video, attending closed-door meetings about her charities or joining Prince William for a surprise visit, Catherine has continued to focus on her work whenever possible. This was seen again recently when the Princess sent a message of support in connection with Baby Loss Awareness Week. In a note on X (formally Twitter) which was signed off with ‘C’ to show the Princess wrote it herself, she said: “Baby Loss Awareness Week is such an important moment to support those who have experienced the devastation of baby loss. Sending love, strength and hope to anyone affected.”

This approach to royal communications has become popular with fans of the Royal Family in recent years, as a former royal expert praises the Princess’ decisions to share such personal messages. “This is such an effective and modern way of using her influence and staying in touch, even when she is not making personal appearances,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told OK! “Official statements from the Palace now seem quite stuffy and extremely formal by comparison. Social media can be a source of awful abuse, but Catherine and William are showing that it can be used to spread goodwill and kindness.” Sign up to OK!’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

With the Princess’ main patronages and charitable organisations often revolving around the fitness, children’s early years development and young people’s mental health, she earnt the sweet nickname of ‘The Children’s Princess’ by fans on social media. Her areas of charitable support expanded again in 2022 when the Princess became the patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA). In a promotional video at the time, Kate spoke about how no mother is “immune to experiencing anxiety and depression.”

She said: “Sadly, we also know that many more are suffering in silence. No one is immune to experiencing anxiety and depression during this time. “It is crucial, therefore, that all those who might be struggling are given the right support at the right time, so that they’re able to share these feelings without fear of judgment and can access the information, care and support they need to recover.” The MMHA is made up of over 100 different organisations and works to aid women and families who are experiencing perinatal mental problems and to make sure they have access to high-quality care and support. The charity has revealed that around one in five women develop a mental health issue during pregnancy or within the early years after having a baby.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
