Privacy NoticeThe Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has shown her dedication to Royal tradition despite her ongoing battle with cancer. On Monday 22 July, she celebrated Prince George’s 11th birthday by sharing a photograph she had taken herself. In honour of the special day, both Kate and Prince William shared a charming black and white photo of their eldest son. Instead of hiring a professional photographer, Kate chose to continue the family tradition of taking the birthday photos herself. Kate is known for being an “enthusiastic amateur photographer”, often capturing the birthday moments of her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. These personal tributes add a touching element to each of their special days.

However, this year, Kate’s usual routine has been disrupted due to her ongoing fight with an undisclosed form of cancer. She revealed in June that she would be undergoing treatment for several more months. Despite her cancer diagnosis, Kate’s passion for photography remains undeterred. She even managed to capture the photo that was shared globally, a move many believe may have aided her recovery, reports the Mirror. In a rare health update last month, the Princess revealed: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” she said in the message. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

Given her love of photography, it’s speculated that this hobby could be helping to lift her spirits during her treatment, especially as the photos shared to celebrate both Father’s Day and husband Prince William’s birthday were also credited to Kate. However, there was one break from tradition this year. Until 2023, birthday photos of the Royal children were released a day before the actual day. But due to scheduling issues related to Kate’s cancer treatment, this year, all three of her children’s photos were released on their birthdays. It’s believed that this change was driven by a desire for more privacy as the family navigates through this challenging situation.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
