Our head of fashion Zoe got her hands on a newly-restocked Le Chameau pair to test them in the soggy October conditions (Image: Getty / Zoe Cripps)After what seemed like an eternity, I finally managed to snag a pair of Le Chameau’s Vierzonord wellies, specifically in the elusive black shade that had been out of stock for ages. As someone who frequently finds herself navigating muddy trails and embarking on damp winter walks, I was over the moon when these boots were back on the shelves. The buzz around these boots is big, and I was eager to see if they lived up to the hype. Much of the excitement surrounding them is due to Kate Middleton being seen sporting various wellies from Le Chameau over the past ten years or so. Given that our Princess of Countryside Chic has a knack for causing items she wears to sell out, it’s no surprise that these boots are often hard to come by. So, as soon as my pair arrived, I slipped them on and set off for a thorough test run through some seriously waterlogged terrain. Not that I doubted Kate’s (unspoken) endorsement, but right from the get-go, these boots were a dream – warm, cosy, and surprisingly light considering their robust build. But do they justify the £250 price tag?

Le Chameau’s Vierzonord Boots features If you’re on the lookout for a pair of boots that will last more than just one winter, then Le Chameau’s Vierzonord boots are definitely worth considering. These boots are handcrafted by skilled bootmakers and feature a unique Chamolux rubber that’s incredibly flexible and comfortable, so they won’t become stiff after a few hours of wear. Additionally, they have a snug neoprene lining to keep your feet cosy when the temperature drops. The adjustable strap is a great feature for achieving the perfect fit (no more struggling into boots that are too tight for thicker calves!), and the waterproof gusset ensures your feet remain dry, even if you find yourself splashing through puddles. The sole boasts a dual-density design that absorbs shock and provides excellent traction, and with anti-fatigue arch support, you can comfortably wear them for extended periods. In short, if you enjoy outdoor walks in all types of terrain and weather conditions, these boots have got you covered (literally). Zoe shares

I must admit, I’ve been eyeing these boots for quite some time, so when I saw the restock notification for the black colourway, I didn’t hesitate. They may technically be wellies, but they look fabulous paired with jeans, dresses and tights, and leggings. They exude countryside chic, not plastic and weather-resistant. Unlike other wellies that can feel chilly and rubber-like, these ones have a lined interior that keeps my feet cosy and dry, plus they’re a breeze to walk in. The biggest selling point for me is how effortlessly they slip on and off – anyone who’s ever wrestled with a pair of wellies will know this isn’t always a given. At £250, I’m aware they might not fit everyone’s budget, but considering how much use you’ll get out of them throughout the year, the cost per wear makes them a bargain. That said, if you’re still struggling to justify the price tag, I’ve got a couple of high street alternatives for you. Dune London’s Waterproof Rubber Knee High Boots are currently on sale for £93, while SEQWL wellies in black are going for £26 on Asos.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
