Privacy NoticeJames Middleton has given an update on his sister, Kate Middleton’s health, saying the Princess of Wales is “doing ok” after completing her cancer treatment. The 42 year old Royal underwent abdominal surgery in January and subsequently announced she would have a course of preventative chemotherapy. Speaking on TODAY, James said: “She’s doing ok. It’s not for me to share on her behalf, you know, how everything’s going. But she’s getting all the right support and focus that she needs. And like anything, it takes time to process.” James also revealed that Orla, the dog he gave to Kate and her family, including husband Prince William, has been a great source of support.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, he said: “I know how much the dogs, for me, have helped in taking your mind off something. So I’m certain that for them, Orla is doing her job in supporting her family.” James, who has been open about his struggles with depression, also knows Kate can rely on their family, as well as Prince William and their three children, for support. He said: “We are certainly a close family that goes through things together.” “That was the experience I had through my challenges, and I certainly feel like it’s something that her [Catherine’s] family and our family are doing too.”

Earlier this month, Kate confirmed she had finished her chemotherapy treatment, in a deeply personal video. The Princess had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer since late February after the King began his cancer care earlier the same month. In the video, which also featured William and their children, Kate said she was “looking forward to being back at work” and taking on “a few more public engagements” over the coming months. She added that she had a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life” as she entered a “new phase of recovery”.

The update comes as Kate attended a “moving and inspiring” ballet performance. Kate attended the English National Ballet’s matinee show of Giselle at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London on Thursday. In a message on X, Kate paid tribute to the company and the production, calling it “creativity at its best”. The post read: “Congratulations and thank you to @ENBallet and @Sadlers_Wells for the wonderfully powerful, moving and inspiring performance of Akram Khan’s Giselle. Creativity at its best!
