Privacy NoticeKate Middleton appears to have swapped her blue engagement ring, which once belonged to Princess Diana, for a new ‘eternity band’. The stunning new piece of jewellery was on show in a moving new video released by the Royal Family, in which Kate revealed that her treatment for cancer has come to an end. In a voiceover, Princess Kate, 42, says: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.” She can be seen enjoying the outdoors, strolling through fields and spending time together in the countryside with husband Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Also on display in the footage is Kate’s new ring, worn on her ring finger alongside her wedding ring. The new ring looks to be a gold eternity band, set with diamonds and sapphires. She appears to have swapped out her engagement ring, the iconic blue sapphire and diamond ring which William proposed to her with in 2010, and the same ring which King Charles proposed to Princess Diana with in 1981. It’s not the first time Kate’s new ring has been spotted, with eagle-eyed fans noticing the jewellery earlier this summer, in a video message the couple recorded to Team GB on their success at the Paris Olympics. Fans speculate that the new ring could be a gift from William – the royal couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in April..

One commentator wrote: “The new ring again… definitely a William present.” Another added: “I wonder if she needs a fresh start from wearing Diana’s ring, something for this next phase of her life? Or perhaps she will still wear Diana’s ring occasionally or at formal events?” In the emotional three minute long video, which was filmed in Norfolk last month, Kate adds: “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as we know it can change in an instant, and we’ve had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.” “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

In the personal clip, Kate explains: “I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.” “Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.” Meanwhile, Royal fans have spotted some ‘blink-and-you’ll-miss-it’ cameos in the heartfelt video, including the family’s lovely dog and Kate’s parents.
