Privacy NoticeKate Middleton is set to swap England for the picturesque Scottish Highlands this summer, as she joins the Royal Family on their annual getaway. The Princess of Wales will be heading to Balmoral with her husband Prince William and their three children, along with other senior Royals, including the King and Queen. It marks a “huge move” from Kate, 42, as she continues to undergo treatment for cancer. The Princess has remained out of the spotlight since December, when she underwent abdominal surgery. She then later announced she’d been diagnosed with an undisclosed from of cancer and was beginning treatment. Her decision to travel to Scotland indicates she feels “comfortable” with the Royals, said Royal Family biographer Angela Levin. She also claimed Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be “delighted” that their mum is coming away with them. “She is going to Scotland to be with the family,” Angela said on GB News. “This is a huge move. Not only because she is obviously not well yet, but it shows she feels very comfortable with the Royal Family. “She is very happy with the King and the Queen and she knows they will understand if she has to rest. She can say what she likes and be warmed. I think it’s wonderful she can do that. The children will be delighted also.” Kate has made two public appearances since her cancer diagnosis, with the Royal appearing at Wimbledon as well as Trooping the Colour. While details of her diagnosis and treatment are unknown, Kate’s latest appearances and decision to head to Balmoral indicates the Princess is doing well.

There’s no doubt a holiday with her loved ones is welcomed by Kate, who will be wanting to spend some quality time with her children after a difficult few months. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond opened up to OK! about Kate’s decision to head on holiday to Scotland. “It’s been one heck of a year for the Royal Family so far and nothing would please the King more than to have his close family gathered together in the peace of Balmoral for a time to take stock together, mark the passing of an incredibly difficult few months and look to the future,” she told us. Jennie added: “Like Catherine herself has said, cancer treatment brings with it a large measure of uncertainty and that must extend to whether she is able to spend part of the summer holidays at Balmoral. If she does go, I’m sure the whole family will want to surround her with love, support and renewed strength. She, meanwhile, will want to make the summer months as fun and carefree for the children as she possibly can after everything she’s been through.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
