Privacy Notice Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made a rare public appearance as she joined Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla at Crathie Church in Scotland. The 42 year old was spotted on Sunday (25 August) in the passenger seat of a car driven by her husband, with their eldest son, Prince George, also seen in the back seat. King Charles and Queen Camilla were also on their way to the service, while Prince Edward travelled separately. A guard of honour from the Scottish Balaklava company welcomed the monarch upon his arrival. Crathie Kirk has been a favourite place of worship for the Royal Family during their stays at Balmoral for over a hundred years.

Crathie Kirk was the location of a private service for the royals in September 2022 following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and they also attended a Sunday service there in 1997 after the tragic death of Princess Diana. The Princess of Wales has been largely absent from Royal duties this year due to her recovery from an undisclosed form of cancer. She has recently made public appearances at Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, marking her first public outings since her diagnosis was announced in March.

Princess Kate announced she was undergoing preventative cancer treatment and is “focusing on the things that will help me heal” in her video statement. As she continues her recovery, the mother-of-three is spending the rest of the summer with William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Prior to her appearance at Trooping the Colour in June, Kate Middleton opened up about her health journey. Discussing her recovery, she declared: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” the Princess admitted. She added, “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Sharing more about the road ahead, Kate continued: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
