Privacy NoticeKate Middleton appeared in high spirits as she arrived at the Wimbledon Men’s Final on Sunday (14 July) to watch Carlos Alcaraz take on Novak Djokovic in the Grand Slam final, in a rare public appearance since beginning her cancer treatment. The Princess Of Wales, 42. who looked stunning in a purple ensemble, was joined by both her daughter Charlotte, nine, and sister Pippa, 40, for the sporting event as they greeted players – including Emma Raducanu – upon arrival. At the South West London tennis grounds, the royal beamed and waved to onlookers while heading into the royal box to a standing ovation. Back in 2016, Kate was made patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club by Queen Elizabeth, meaning she is likely to hand out the trophies to the competitors following the match.

Kate donned a purple shin-length dress with a short sleeve and tartan bow on the chest – which she wears to the event as a subtle nod to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club – while she opted for a radiant palette of makeup while her brunette tresses had been sleekly blow-dried. Meanwhile, Charlotte looked adorable in a navy dress with white polka dot detailing, while the front of her golden locks were pulled back into a plait with a bow to match her ensemble. Mother-of-three Kate did not bring along her eldest son George or youngest Louis to the tennis, indicating they may be joining their father, Prince William, in Germany this evening to watch England take on Spain in the UEFA EUROs final. William is expected have flown to Germany on Sunday morning to watch the clash, he was previously seen in Dusseldorf for England’s quarter final match against Switzerland on Saturday 6 July.

Kate’s attendance at Wimbledon marks her first public appearance since appearing at the King’s Trooping The Colour celebration last month, which was her first official appearance of 2024. The royal announced that she had cancer in March and has since been undergoing preventative chemotherapy, taking the time away from royal duties to focus on recovery.

In a statement released last month, Kate revealed she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days” as she continued her treatment. Her appearance came after Wimbledon organisers admitted they weren’t sure whether she would make it or not. Speaking to Telegraph Sport, All England Club chair Debbie Jevans previously revealed: “We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
