Privacy NoticePrince William and Kate Middleton have taken a brief pause from their summer retreat to share a heartfelt message. The Royal pair are enjoying quality time at Balmoral with the Royal Family before their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, return to school. Today the Prince and Princess of Wales expressed their support for Team GB’s Paralympics squad as the Paralympic Games commence in Paris tonight with a grand opening ceremony. They retweeted a post by Paralympics GB, which excitedly announced: “It’s today #Paralympics”. In a show of encouragement, William and Kate responded: “Looking forward to another few weeks of incredible sport! Wishing the very best of luck to our @ParalympicsGB athletes and all those competing at #Paris2024.”

Their tweet was personally signed off with ‘WandC’, indicating a direct message from the couple themselves. William and Kate have always been enthusiastic sports fans; they were present at the London Paralympics opening ceremony in 2012. Although they did not attend the Paris Olympics earlier this month, they celebrated Team GB’s efforts with a congratulatory video. The video compilation from the Prince and Princess of Wales was kicked off by none other than Snoop Dogg, who charmed viewers with his opening “greetings loved ones” and a cool sign-off with “thank you Great Britain, on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the prince and his lovely wife”. Kate shared her warmth by saying: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”

And William chimed in with his praise: “Well done on all you’ve achieved, you’ve been an inspiration to us all.” Fans were abuzz to see William donning a beard in the footage, a rare alteration to his usual clean-shaven look. Days ago eyes were on William when he was seen driving to Crathie Kirk, during their Balmoral holiday, but alas, the beard was no more, leaving fans a tad disappointed. It was a significant outing, as it marked Kate’s first time stepping out publicly after she was last seen presenting the Wimbledon trophy. Back in March, the Princess announced her cancer treatment. Her presence at the Trooping the Colour in June, followed by her presenting Carlos Alcaraz with his Wimbledon trophy, were her steps back into the public eye post-diagnosis. Prince Edward, patron of the British Paralympic Association, also shared his inspiring words on X ahead of the Games. His positive message read: “To all members of the @ParalympicsGB team heading for Paris, whether athletes, officials or staff, I want to wish you the very best of luck at the Paralympic Games.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
