Privacy NoticeKate Middleton was ‘confident’ and ‘excited’ as she addressed the Team GB Olympic athletes in a video message, according to a body language expert. The royal duo dropped a heartfelt video yesterday (Sunday 11 August) congratulating the team saying they are an “inspiration to us all”. Now, body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, explained the Princess of Wales’ delivery was “coherent” and “strong”. Darren explained: “When we saw Kate and William congratulate the Team GB Olympians, we could see Kate felt happy and content. She came across as motivated and proud to be involved.”

Darren continued: “You can tell this through her consistent eye contact and genuine smiles throughout her message. Kate spoke with a lot of ease and carried herself with elegance as her delivery was coherent and strong. “William also spoke with a lot of confidence and enthusiasm. William’s positive and open body language suggested he felt happy to be congratulating the Olympic team with Kate by his side. They both felt excited to make an appearance and give the athletes their best for their achievements while representing the country.” Kate Middleton is currently undergoing treatment for cancer which she revealed to the public in March 2024 and has been rarely seen at public events since.

Kate and Prince William weren’t the only two British icons in the video, the clip with an intro from none other than US rapper legend Snoop Dogg and footballing royalty David Beckham also appears in the compilation. Then the video quickly cuts to a cosy shot of Princess Kate who continues to recover from cancer treatment on the left, with Prince William on her right. The Princess beams, saying: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.” Fans were struck by Prince William’s new look in the video and sported a newly grown beard. In a statement on social media, the couple wrote “Well done @teamgb, what an incredible journey! “Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud! Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @paris2024 and looking forward to more from @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer.”

The Paris Olympics 2024 drew to a close on Sunday 11 August, and after two weeks of tough competition, Team GB scooped up an impressive 65 medals. Highlights included Alex Yee spectacularly winning gold in the men’s triathlon, while cyclist Tom Pidcock mirrored this achievement in the cross-country event. There was also a notable victory in swimming, with Team GB securing gold in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay. Big names like Tom Daley, Adam Peaty, and Katarina Johnson-Thompson all bagged silver medals, as did golfer Tommy Fleetwood.
