Privacy NoticeThe Prince and Princess of Wales could win the ‘seal Royal approval’ and bring the couple ‘close to people of the country’ if the England team wins at the Euros. Royal butler Paul Burrell, who is speaking on the behalf of Slingo, says William will ‘become the People’s King’ if he continues on current trajectory. In a new interview, Paul says victory tomorrow night would also ‘put Royal approval on the national football team’ as he spoke of the connections between the Royal family and England’s most popular sport. He said: “I think England winning the Euros seals the Royal approval, and it puts royal approval on our national football team. It would also bring William and Kate closer to the people of our country. I think our country will applaud that, we want to see that.”

England football team’s unique superstitions and symbols to bring them luck for Euros final
Gareth Southgate’s side secured a spot in Sunday night’s final against Spain after beating the Netherlands 2-1 on Wednesday night, 10 July, which saw the England team and their better halves celebrating. Although Prince William, who is the president of the Football Association and has attended previous England matches in this tournament, was unable to attend the semi-final, he still managed to show his support for the squad. Paul adds that William is doing this to ‘forge a brand between himself and the football world’, as well as ‘the people of this country’.
Prince William could be as loved as his mum was, according to Paul
Paul, who previously served as Diana’s butler and a footman to Queen Elizabeth II, believes that Prince William is on the path to becoming ‘the People’s King’, much like his mother was known as the People’s Princess. “He’s an ambassador for us, and has been going along to watch the football in Germany, and that’s as it should be. He will continue to do that and what he’s doing is he’s forging a brand. It’s about forging a relationship between himself, the football world, and the people of this country. who one day he will be King of. So I think the fans will love seeing supporting England and love to see him at football matches, because William will be the people’s King. His mother Diana was the people’s Princess, and William will become the people’s King.” The romance between the Prince and Princess of Wales famously began on the cobble-stoned streets of St Andrews University, and if the past six months have shown anything, it’s that their love story is timeless and can withstand any challenges.
Paul says Kate and Will are going to have a quiet summer

Paul says he knows that William and Kate ‘want to be family for as long as possible’ before they take on the ‘burden of state’. “This year is a very quiet calendar because of Kate, and they will all want to stay close to home. William wants to stay with his wife, and so I think it’s going to be more of moving around royal residences, and not having breaks overseas. I don’t think Kate will be willing enough to travel that far. I think it’s got to be a quiet summer and a quiet autumn for William and Kate and the family. “That’s what William enjoys the most, enjoys coming home, enjoys being with his family and not surrounded by staff and household. They do spend a lot of time just the five of them by themselves and allow staff to do jobs when it’s necessary. It’s different with William and Kate, they want to be a family for as long as they possibly can, before that burden of state comes their way.” Following the news of the princess’ surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis, William was afforded the chance to take a step back from public life and devote himself entirely to his wife and his three children.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
