Privacy NoticeRoyal fans were thrilled when Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton unexpectedly joined in on a Nerf gun battle in Norfolk. Young royals, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six year old Prince Louis, were all in on the action with their parents at the Gone Wild Festival at Holkham Hall in Norfolk, engaging in a playful Nerf war complete with toy guns and smoke bombs. The Princess of Wales, who bravely shared her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, was seen getting fully involved, as she “grabbed a Nerf gun, ran around, and played stuck in the mud with her kids” revealed Georgina Barron, the head of Norfolk Nerf Parties to Mail Online. During what was described as a “wholesome family day out,” little Prince Louis was reportedly heard excitedly shouting: “Nerf or nothing, let’s do this!” It’s reported that the Wales family attended The Gone Wild Festival alongside pals last weekend, specifically requesting an energetic, “high-intensity, non-stop game of Nerf fun”, reports the Express.

With the festival entertaining up to 640 children daily, it had a particularly “very special VIP family” participating last weekend, according to Ms Barron. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ms Barron recounted: “I was called to the production team’s office and told that a very special VIP family had requested to play Nerf wars.” She continued, sharing how: “The Princess of Wales grabbed a Nerf gun, ran around, and played stuck in the mud with her children.” “Prince Louis was shouting with glee, ‘Come on, Nerf or nothing. Let’s do this! ‘ I’m still in awe of what a memorable experience we had.”

Ms Barron said that having the Royal family there was the “biggest honour” and an “unforgettable” event. She also added that the Royals were not photographed as they wanted to enjoy a normal day like “any other normal family”. OK! has contacted Kensington Palace for comment. It comes after William and Kate appeared in a video message congratulating Team GB at the end of the Paris Olympics.
