Privacy Notice Prince Harry charmed the crowd at Kevin Costner’s polo field on Friday night, without Meghan Markle who was reportedly under the weather. Stepping into the spotlight at the gala supporting first responders, Harry honoured a fellow helicopter pilot, raising hopes that perhaps Meghan will make an appearance next year at the star-studded Santa Barbara One805Live! event. Donning a dapper suit (complete with a cheeky omission of socks), Harry handed over the accolade to pilot Loren Courtney as soon as he arrived. After exchanging a few jokes, they shared a light-hearted moment about their common comfort in the cockpit rather than the stage limelight.

The night’s roster also boasted performances by pop icon Pink, singer Richard Marx, and actor Kevin Costner. A source disclosed: “We were all hoping Meghan would attend like she did last year but the word is that she is sick and could not make it.”, reports the Mirror. With a packed itinerary, Harry is set to jet off to New York for a succession of engagements including the poignant Diana Awards and a Halo Trust function, a cause close to Diana’s heart. And there’s a UK visit booked for September 30. Amidst all this, Edward Coram-James, a PR authority, has weighed in, pinpointing missteps in communication and image crafting as the root causes of Sussexes’ dip in public affection, summing up with his candid assessment: “It’s just that they had a bad PR plan.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have experienced a significant decline in public favour since their relocation to the United States, as revealed by a recent poll. It was speculated that Prince Harry’s contentious allegations against the Royal family contributed substantially to his dwindling popularity. However, Mr Coram-James has now shared his perspective on the findings. He stated: “To be fair to the Sussexes, they seem to have learned the lessons from bad PR, and appear to have turned the page.” “I attribute much of their fall-from-public-favour purely as a reflection of what can happen with bad PR. It does not mean that they’re bad people. For all we know, The Sussexes could be kind, caring and incredible people.” The expert, who works for the firm GoUp, believes that Harry and Meghan have gained valuable insight from their experience with “bad PR,” which he asserts can rapidly impact any public figure or organisation.

“That’s the thing with PR: if it goes wrong, the public can, fairly or unfairly, decide that it makes you a bad person, where, when it goes right, the public can decide that you’re a good person. Its why communications are so key,” Mr Coram-James told Express.co.uk. The survey revealed that Harry still holds a stronger appeal among the younger generation. In a recent poll conducted by Ipsos, 1,097 British adults – all aged between 18 and 75 – were asked whether they would support Harry if he were to return.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
