Privacy NoticeJacqueline Jossa revealed she Googled her name “every day” after being branded “fat Lauren Branning” during her original time on EastEnders. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner, 31, candidly opened up on the extent of the online bullying she faced after appearing on the BBC soap from 2010 to 2018. Jacqueline revealed she was shockingly called “fat” after being re-cast as Max Branning’s daughter on the show. Speaking to OK! back in 2020, the mum-of-two said: “They called me the ‘new fat Lauren’. There were Facebook groups and all sorts about me.” She added: “I was literally Googling my name every single day or writing ‘Lauren Branning fat’ or ‘new Lauren Branning’. It was always negative and I would just be obsessed with reading forums and negative things about me.”

At the time, the actress sent fans wild by teasing that she could return to the soap, which had just celebrated its 35th anniversary. Taking to social media to mark the milestone, Jacqueline wrote: “HAPPY 35th @bbceastenders! I had such an amazing time and LOVED Lauren Branning with ALL of my heart! I miss you lozza, maybe see you again one day! Amazing week of eps congrats everyone involved! Some pics of my time on the show! Wow. Memories.” Jake Wood who plays Lauren’s dad Max Branning wrote: “Miss ya fake daughter”, and Louisa Lytton, who plays Ruby Allen said: “Come back we can be friends Ruby hasn’t got any.”

The star returned to Albert Square on New Year’s Day this year, as part of a series of comebacks for former EastEnders stars in the run up to its 40th anniversary in 2024. Jacqueline joined EastEnders in September 2010, replacing Madeline Duggan to play Lauren Branning. She originally left the soap in February 2018, after her on-screen sister Abi died after falling from a roof and Lauren departed Walford. She was crowned queen of the jungle winning I’m A Celeb in December 2019, beating Coronation Street’s Andy Whyment.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
