The ITV dating show, hosted by Davina McCall, is back for a second series, where single parents look for love while their kids watch on in secret. In an emotional moment during tonight’s episode, Danny, 49, gets teary as he reflects on his life and the errors he made along the way, reports the Manchester Evening News. Holding a photo of his younger self, he admits: “This chap, he was on the cusp of going into the world on his own without knowing what he wanted to do.”

He reminisces about his youth, saying: “Putting too much importance perhaps on girls and not so much on anything else. I was quite a confident person at school, I didn’t have a problem making friends, I didn’t have a problem having a girlfriend.” Opening up about his infidelity, he reveals: “Just know you’ve made a couple of mistakes. He made a mistake with his marriage. I ended up having an affair. I kind of had everything I ever wanted and I lost it. I spent the rest of my adult years trying to find it again. I’m so envious of people that have families that are together.” The Sussex-based sales controller shares his longing for a stable relationship, saying: “I’d love to walk into a relationship and be ten years down the line and be so comfortable to know that they’re with me because they want me.”

Danny confessed that he ‘had everything I ever wanted and I lost it’

Jenny, another participant on the show, gets emotional as she discusses her fears about starting a new relationship. She confesses: “I can appreciate and resonate with what Danny’s just said about the whole idea of getting into another relationship.” She continues, revealing her vulnerability: “It’s just that anticipation that it’s not going to work out for whatever reason. And I come across as being the strongest person in the world but I just feel broken.” Meanwhile, at the bunker, emotions are also high among the children watching their parents’ confessions.
