Privacy NoticeCoronation Street legend Jimmi Harkishin, famed for his role as Dev Alahan, was left fuming after being wrongly accused of stealing toast on-set by a colleague. Spilling the beans on their On The Sofa podcast, Jack P Shepherd, alongside Colson Smith and Ben Price, recounted how a script supervisor had informed him that Jimmi had swiped his toast when he wasn’t looking, even claiming to have spotted the Weatherfield veteran munching away as he made his exit. However, in a twist revealed in last week’s podcast episode, Jack shared that Jimmi confronted him about the bizarre allegation at work, saying: “I had Dev collar me at work. He went ‘Oy Shepherd’ and I went ‘what’ and he went ‘I ain’t been nicking no f*****g toast’ and I went ‘sorry but the script supervisor says you have’ and he went ‘I know f*****g someone says I have, I haven’t, I’m f*****g gluten intolerant, I don’t bloody eat any of it. I don’t go for it, I never go for it’.” reports the Liverpool Echo. Jack also delved into how Jimmi discovered the podcast gossip, revealing that it wasn’t through listening himself but rather being approached by a fan while travelling by train.

Explaining how the incident had played out, Jack added: “Some f***ing guy collared him on a train and went ‘been nicking toast have you Dev?’ and he thought he meant literally this instant that we’re on the train that he’s been nicking toast and he (Dev) went ‘Excuse me! I’ve just been sat here.’ and he went ‘nicking toast aren’t yer, that Jack P Shepherd has been saying you’ve been nicking toast at work off someone’. However, when Jack and Jimmi later discussed the incident, they found it hilarious and Jimmi ‘swears blind it wasn’t him’. As Jimmi’s 25th anniversary on the show is fast approaching, he is currently one of the longest-serving cast members on the cobbles, having featured in some of the soap’s biggest storylines over the past two and a half decades.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
