Privacy NoticeKatherine Ryan has opened up about her culinary catastrophes while filming the new 2024 series of Cooking With The Stars, including almost breaking her co-star’s neck! The comedian is set to appear on our screens next month alongside a star-studded cast including Christopher Biggins, Ellie Simmonds, and Carol Vorderman, where they’ll be whipping up a storm or in Katherine’s case, a bit of a disaster! Spilling the beans on her mishaps, Katherine confessed: “I spilled flour and oil all over the floor, and Jack Stein fell on it and nearly broke his neck. I got some slice-proof gloves and I cut through those.” Not stopping there, she added: “I also over-boiled my saute potatoes so they turned into mash – ruined. I tend to overcook things, and I’m bad with volume – I’m a really terrible cook.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

She didn’t hold back on the self-deprecation, admitting: “Everything I’ve done has been a disaster – I just don’t have the tips, tricks, and hacks to be put together delicious flavours, or take the time to make things.” Hosted by Emma Willis, ITV’s Cooking With The Stars first tantalised our taste buds back in 2021. Meanwhile, Carol Vorderman shared her own kitchen nightmares, revealing her penchant for charred cuisine. Carol dished out her own cooking confessions saying: “I have had many disasters in the kitchen. Such as souffles that didn’t rise. I am very good at burning things.”

She elaborated on her fiery fiascos: “In fact, world champion level at burning things and that’s because my brain is really hippity hoppity so when I have to stand over something and stir it, my brain gets bored and I go off and do something and then fifteen minutes later, I think what is that smell? “I come back and hope it’s not ruined! When my son Cameron was about eight, we moved to Bristol and we rented a tiny little flat for about a year or so which I loved and we all loved. There was a tiny kitchen and I can remember him saying to me, ‘Mum, how do I switch this on’ and I said, ‘What on darling? ‘ and he said, ‘That thing that you burn my pizza in!'” She further admitted: “My food heaven is Italian food but I also love salad, I love vegetables. I love broccoli and asparagus. My food hell is probably oysters and anything that is too chocolatey! I don’t like that.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
