The Traitors has the nation on the edge of their seats, with BBC viewers eagerly awaiting to see whether the faithful or the traitors will snag a life-changing cash prize in tonight’s thrilling finale. The psychological competition, led by the ever-stylish Claudia Winkleman (who’s made fingerless gloves trendy again), is wrapping up its third series, but fans are wondering, what’s become of Diane Carson from season two? The 63-year-old ex-teacher appeared alongside her son Ross Carson, keeping their family ties under wraps. The Northern Irish favourite, famed for her frequent use of ‘absolutely’ within the Scottish castle walls, was a faithful until she met her dramatic end “in plain sight” after drinking from a poisoned chalice.

Diane became a national treaure during her time on The Traitors

While neither Diane nor Ross reached the series finale, the effervescent Diane has been busy since, popping up on Celebrity MasterChef, making a surprising career switch, and enduring a cringe-worthy Good Morning Britain interview. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to revisit some of Diane’s memorable moments and catch up with what this beloved figure is doing now… Last August, Bangor’s own Diane shared news of an exciting career pivot during her Good Morning Britain appearance, revealing to Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley that she’d be hitting the stage as a performer in the play Mothers Of The Brides, despite having zero acting background, reports the Mirror. Diane opened up about a new chapter in her career, without a hint of concern: “You know, I’m of an age, it’s been offered so I’m going to have a go and see. I’m not worried, I’m not nervous. I don’t think anybody should be nervous because if you think about it, if you don’t know one person out there, so what? ” Richard grilled her on the shift in direction: “And what about learning lines? ” Diane remained undaunted, quipping: “Well, apparently, that won’t be a problem.” Pressing on, Richard noted: “It’s a complete, complete 90 degree turn in your life,’ to which Diane clapped back: ” prompting Diane to retort confidently: “I know but honestly, I will keep saying it – we all just live once.”

In less than a month, Diane made waves on our screens with her stint in Celebrity MasterChef, where she rekindled her passion for cooking. Despite not taking the crown, Diane cited her children as the driving force behind her participation: “It was mostly through persuasion, my kids thought it’d be great.” She reminisced: “They love watching Celebrity MasterChef. They thought it’d be fun, and I suppose, a bit of a challenge to see if I could get a kick start into entertaining again! For years, I’ve always had family and friends around and I’ve loved entertaining.” There’s no sign of Diane stepping back from the limelight as the rosé aficionado recently announced she’s joining forces with drag queen Beary Poppins for a sparkling new podcast venture called Spill The Fizz.

She spilled the tea at RuPaul’s Drag Con earlier this month, gushing to Heatworld: “I met Beary Poppins when he was assigned to interview me on Zoom for Heat, and we got on like a house on fire. We had such a laugh at another face-to-face interview that we kept in contact.” The dynamic pair give fans a peek into their everyday antics and share side-splitting stories. They’ve even sat down with some stellar celeb guests for their hour-long episodes. With just one month into 2025 ticked off, we’re buzzing to see what Diane has up her sleeve next.
