As wait for the highly-anticipated drama to unfold, let’s take a closer look at Sean’s life off-screen, including his 25 year marriage and their family heartache. Sean, 60, hails from Hammersmith London and is the son of actor Jon Pertwee who starred as the Third Doctor in Doctor Who. Since his career kicked off during the 80s, Sean has starred in huge TV roles including Casualty, Waking The Dead, Skins, Luther, Death in Paradise, Gotham, You and Silent Witness. The actor has been married to his wife, Jacqueline Jane ‘Jacqui’ Hamilton-Smith, a make-up artist, since June 1999. Sharing a series of snaps from their wedding day, Sean added the caption: “25 years ago today I married my partner, my wife, the love of my life. I love you I love you @jackiehamiltonsmith #silver.” In 2001, the couple welcomed twin boys who were born prematurely, but just four days later one of their babies tragically died. In 2016, the actor spoke about the loss of their child during an interview with the Guardian. He shared at the time: “My wife, Jacqui, gave birth to our twin boys in 2001 and we lost one. We lost Gilbert while Alfred (Freddy) survived, which was a miracle because they were born prematurely at 25 weeks. Gilbert lived only four days and Freddy survived after being in a coma for three-and-a-half months.

“When Freddy pulled through I made a pledge that I would always be proud of him, always be by his side. Whatever decision he takes in life, I’ll support him to the best of my ability.” Sean went on to share that their son Freddy has an “older soul” as he added, “I don’t know whether it’s because he’s got his brother on his shoulder with him, but he’s got this extraordinary calmness, which is something I never had.” He added that while he was “always frenetic, all over the place and angry about things” his son is “not like that” as he said that this is “one of the reasons he survived. His soul was there although he was in this coma.” The Night Caller is available to watch from Sunday, July 7 at 9pm with its first hour-long episode on Channel 5. The suspense will continue with the next four episodes scheduled to air nightly from Sunday, July 7 to Wednesday, July 10Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
