Privacy Notice22 Kids and Counting stars Sue and Noel Radford live with their enormous brood in a 10-bedroom townhouse in Morecambe. They had big plans to purchase a new £850,000 country home set in the picturesque countryside. However, the couple recently received the devastating news that the house sale had fallen through and Sue has now given up on her dream. “We really wanted to move to the countryside for a quieter life, a bit more privacy,” Sue told OK!. “When it fell through it was absolutely gutting, but sometimes you think these things happen for a reason and I guess it was just not meant to be. It was upsetting when it happened. The house move was an emotional episode.” Sue and her husband Noel are parents to Britain’s biggest family, sharing Chris, 35, Sophie, 30, Chloe, 28, Jack, 27, Daniel, 25, Luke, 23, Millie, 22, Katie, 21, James, 20, Ellie, 19, Aimee, 18, Josh, 17, Max, 15, Tillie, 14, Oscar, 12, Casper, 11, Hallie, nine, Phoebe, seven, Archie, six, Bonnie, five and Heidie, four. Sue and Noel had planned to let five of their older children remain in their current house. That’s no longer happening but Sue admitted she’s a little relieved. “It always bothered me that some of the older kids were going to still live in this house and we were going to go and live in the new house,” she confessed. “So I’m glad that we’re not doing it now. There are so many memories that have been made in this house. It would have been a shame to have left it behind.” The famous parents gave their followers a peek into the reality of tidying up after their enormous family in one of their YouTube vlogs, which also offered a sneak peek inside their Morecambe property. As seen on Channel Five, the Radfords confessed they had postponed the mammoth task of deep cleaning their 10-bedroom house until their school-age kids were back from their break.

Noel even took a day off from his pie shop to join forces with Sue in tackling the overwhelming clean-up operation. Noel disclosed: “This is the first time since Christmas that we’re really having a right good tidy up of the house. The toys are out, stuff’s everywhere… so just chaos.” During the vlog, Sue is spotted peeling away couch cushions and sighing at the ‘terrible’ mess beneath them. Revealing their crumb-covered sofa, she exclaimed: “Look at it! ” while Noel nervously chuckled and added: “Oh, that’s terrible. Despite the mess, the couple found humour in their situation, laughing as they cleaned up crisps and other snacks hidden under the cushions. While collecting two sweets, Noel quipped that they were their “reward for cleaning the house all day”.

With Noel making multiple trips to the tip during the big clean, he humorously suggested: “Maybe we just put the cushions back on and ignore it.” To accommodate their huge family, Sue and Noel made the interesting choice to live in a converted 10-bedroom former care home, which they bought back in 2004. They’ve clearly made it their own, and despite the odd “terrible” mess, it’s often surprisingly tidy!

The hub of the home is the spacious kitchen, complete with a large island – perfect for cooking up big family meals. Family is clearly important to the Radfords, as their living room is adorned with pictures of their children and grandchildren, adding a personal touch to the neutral decor. Outside, there’s a brilliant garden for everyone to enjoy. The astroturf lawn features a wooden swing set, and in the summer months becomes a playground paradise, complete with inflatables and toys galore! And while the kids play, the adults can chill out in their very own homemade bar – sounds ideal! Speaking of relaxing, the garden also boasts a hot tub where the kids can often be found chilling on sunny days. Back inside, the large dining table is a key feature, used for everything from homework sessions to festive Christmas dinners! And despite the challenges of keeping such a busy household in check, Sue has come up with some ingenious storage solutions, such as transforming a Kallax unit into a shoe rack on the landing – perfect for keeping all those shoes in order. Sue and Noel have ingeniously arranged four single beds in one bedroom to maximise space, resulting in some of the younger girls bunking together.

Their YouTube channel featured a massive clean-up effort that had fans showering them with compliments for their incredible teamwork. One viewer exclaimed: “Way to go you two! Teamwork makes the dream work!” Another was curious about Sue’s secrets to maintaining order, saying: “I would love to see Sue’s cleaning routine for the week. The house always looks so clean.” A third fan wondered: “How do you keep on top of the actual cleaning side of things? Like cleaning the bathroom, dusting, washing all the bedding etc.” However, some followers suggested that the hardworking parents should get their children involved, with one commenting: “Teach the children to tidy up and clean, many hands make light work.” Echoing this sentiment, another added: “Kids are old enough to clean their own rooms and keep them tidy. Nonsense cleaning up after big kids like that.” 22 Kids & Counting, Sunday 21 July, 8pm, Channel 5Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
