Privacy Notice Although they keep their personal life private, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have given fans a small insight into their home during their hit Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. The Sussexes upped sticks in 2020, relocating across the Atlantic upon leaving the royal family. The couple now reside in Montecito, California, and have done for more than four years with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who have a huge garden equipped with a swimming pool for endless entertainment. The stunning house is nestled in a celebrity hotspot with neighbours including Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry and Ellen DeGeneres.

Richard Mineards, a society columnist for the Montecito Journal who lives nearby the royals, told The Telegraph: “It’s paradise living here,” adding of Harry and Meghan: “They live rather splendidly, it couldn’t be a nicer place. “It’s a very wealthy community, we have a lot of people giving a lot of money to our cultural organisations as well as charities, but we don’t see them.”

Prince Harry claimed that their lack of security in the UK contributed to them not returning, however, it looks like the couple have the privacy they crave overseas. “We have got a lot of very rich and very famous people here, and none of them have a security retinue like the Sussexes,” Richard added. The £12 million mansion boasts nine bedrooms with 16 bathrooms, as well as a swimming pool and playhouse for their two children. In their series, the couple gave viewers an insight into their rustic home office, as the Duke undertakes a Zoom call. As the camera zooms out, fans can see a California Anthem bear poster in the background above the mantelpiece which reads “I love you California.”

In an interview with The Cut, Meghan said: “We did everything we could to get this house. Because you walk in and go… joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.” Meghan also previously revealed that the couple had avoided previewing the interior of the home and had only toured the outside after just leaving the royal family, as they were without jobs and ‘affording it felt unlikely’. Outdoor features include a large pool, a tennis court, a chicken coop and rose gardens, and a fully equipped terrace with with a wood-fired stove and barbecue. Since leaving the UK for the States, the couple have only returned a handful of times. The last time they were both together in the UK was in September 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The timing of the annual WellChild ceremony and other events meant that the couple happened to be in Britain at the time Harry’s grandmother passed. Meghan also came back to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which happened just months before the monarch’s death, which is believed to be the only time their youngest, Lilibet has visited the country.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
