The former couple both decided to exit the show on Sunday night after Tim refused to move into their Sydney home with Katie, following a fiery dinner party where his co-stars criticised him for his treatment of his bride. During their wedding, Tim visibly recoiled from Katie’s touch and later confided in producers that she was ‘totally not what he wanted.’ His reluctance only intensified in the days that followed, leaving Katie with no choice but to navigate the experience on her own.

Since then Katie, 37, has spent the past six months since filming ended developing a free online course aimed at helping other women identify toxic traits in themselves and potential partners. The course also aims to provide tools to boost self-esteem and confidence. “Most people don’t know that Katie has a degree in behavioural science and a major in psychology, and she’s incredibly passionate about using her experiences and self-discoveries to help other women,” a source close to the reality show told Yahoo Lifestyle. It comes as the reality star recently revealed that has been focusing on personal growth and learning to love herself, since filming ended last year. She now has a fresh outlook on life, and Tim’s rejection is said to have been “the catalyst that pushed her to confront her issues and understand their origins”.

“I’ve gone on such a journey in my life. It’s taken me a long time to feel really good in my own skin, and I feel like this is just a good reinforcement of that,” she gushed in a video on-set of a photoshoot at Studio Republic, which the studio shared with Yahoo Lifestyle. Unfortunately, the newly confident star is yet to find love but is still said to “be open to finding her perfect match” but for now is “focusing on herself”. Married at First Sight Australia season 12 airs Monday to Thursday at 9pm E4.
