Privacy NoticeWhen a new family joins the Gogglebox cast there are usually two main things that viewers love to nosy at – their choice of snacks, and their home decor! And when siblings Simon and Jane Minty joined the Channel 4 cast three years ago, it was no different. The pair are now firm favourites with viewers, who love Simon’s remote control technique as much as they do their colourful house. While we get a good view of their comfy-looking sofas on the programme, their Instagram account also gives a better look at their homes. The TV cameras were initially set up in Simon’s old flat – with him impressive book collection in shot – but when he moved they decided to film at Jane’s Surrey home instead.

While Jane’s house has a smaller bookshelf her front room, she matches Simon’s taste when it comes to plants and colour. As well as the odd healthy-looking houseplant in the hallway and shelves behind, she often makes sure there’s some fresh flowers in the room to add an extra pop of colour. Snack wise, they’ve been seen munching on oranges, pretzels, and grapes, usually with a health glass of water or orange juice to wash them down, all presented in a platter a la Gogglebox’s Malone family.

Jane loves having some real foliage in her home

Off screen, Simon, 55, dedicates a lot of his time to being a disability campaigner, as he was born with restricted growth. He also runs Sminty Ltd consultancy, which helps corporate clients improve their recruitment and retention of disabled staff and offer better service to disabled customers . His client list is impressive, with the likes of the BBC, HSBC, and The Football Association on his books. Last year, he shared the exciting news that he’d been picked for the World Dwarf Games, and this year he took part in the 31st National Dwarf Games weekend, competing in javelin and shot putt. In an Instagram post, he wrote: “Really enjoyed both and my fellow competitors were supportive and fun. Javelin is hard; it has to land tip end first. Shot putt more straight forward. Turns out a loud grunt as you throw will gain you a few extra centimetres. No medals this time but happy to have competed and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. #DSAmazing” This year he’s also been working on settling into his new home, and has been keeping the pair’s 48.7K Instagram followers up to date with his progress. In May, he posted a photo to their simonandjane_gogglebox account showing his new pad – and a lot of boxes.

Simon and Jane worked hard to get his flat ready

Meanwhile, Jane revealed in 2022 that she worked in a kitchen, and she’s regularly shared photos from the workplace kitchen to the pair’s joint Instagram account. Posting a photo of a messy day on the job last year, she posted a photo of herself with cheese sauce in her hair after a hand mixer disaster. Comparing her job to Simon’s corporate gig, she wrote: “He wears shiny shoes, smart suits and looks fab. Today I got tangled up in a fight with a hand whisk and a cheese sauce! Hair wash tonight!”. Earlier this week she shared some good news with their followers, reporting on an “unannounced” visit from the Environmental Health Office. In the caption, she wrote: “We achieved the highest score of 5 with an added excellent. The only disappointment was he didn’t have any stickers showing the 5 Rating, and we all love a sticker saying ‘well done.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
