Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa, nestled just outside the town of Crewe, offers a tranquil countryside retreat. The approach to the hotel is reminiscent of a grand arrival at a stately home in a Merchant Ivory film, with its majestic architecture exuding an air of regality. The mansion’s history traces back to 1170, undergoing a rebuild in the 17th Century and further restoration and expansion in the 19th Century. Complementing the historic hall is a contemporary wing housing additional rooms, a restaurant and bar, event spaces, as well as a health club, spa and swimming pool.

The food at Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa Despite Crewe’s reputation as being primarily known for its train station, the town’s Market Hall is a charming hub of food stalls and bars. From pasta and burgers to noodles and Olive’s Cypriot Food, there’s something to satisfy every palate, including those partial to a gin or rum-infused liquid lunch. For dinner, the hotel’s Brasserie Bar and Restaurant provides an inviting setting. This bustling eatery strikes a balance between sophistication and warmth, making it an ideal spot for a delightful family meal, reports the Mirror.

What to do at Crewe Hall Crewe Hall Hotel offers everything you need for a rejuvenating weekend getaway, all conveniently located under one roof. Our party, which included a 12 year old, a 15 year old and their mum, were particularly taken with the superb swimming pool. It features designated lanes for swimming lengths and an abundance of loungers around the perimeter, not to mention steam rooms and saunas for post-swim relaxation. The hotel grounds provide an ideal setting for a Jane Austen-esque wander, albeit with the added novelty of a giant outdoor chess game. We lodged in one of the newly introduced family deluxe rooms, where the children enjoyed lounging on the spacious beds with their iPads. Meanwhile, the adults retreated downstairs for a swift drink at the chic Sheridan Bar – a delightful conclusion to a luxurious evening. How much does it cost to stay at Crewe Hall? Prices at Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa start from £89 per night including breakfast.
