The Olympic medallist, 30, is said to be close to sealing the deal for a spot on the star-studded version of the hit backstabbing game show on BBC, with Claudia Winkleman at the helm. According to The Sun’s TV Biz, an insider spilled, “He’s always been a top target for reality show bookers, but his team knew he had the pick of the crop. ” They added that the upcoming series is going to eclipse other reality giants, sharing, “The first series of the celebrity edition blows I’m A Celebrity and Strictly out the water, really, and Tom knows it will be hugely fun to film.” The source noted, “He’ll make a great player too, as no one would suspect misdeeds from such a baby-faced lad.”

Word has it Stephen Fry is the person Claudia Winkleman hopes to spot amid the untrustworthy stars. A TV Biz informant revealed, “Claudia put Stephen right at the top of celebs she’d want on The Traitors and Stephen has made it clear he’d be game. ” The tipster mentioned that while nothing’s written in stone, Fry is more than ready to join, “Stephen is a fan of the show and Claudia was desperate for him to be in it. No contracts have been signed yet — but he told the show’s bosses to name a time and date and he’ll be there.” Other stars on Claudia’s wish list for her treacherous brigade include EastEnders icon Adam Woodyatt, Hollywood’s Andrew Garfield, and quiz queen Victoria Coren Mitchell from Only Connect. And the buzz doesn’t stop there – rumours suggest producers are eager to enlist Ricky Gervais.
