Witnesses heard ‘loud noises’ from Liam’s hotel room shortly before his fall (Image: Dave Benett/Getty Images)Guests at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires have reported hearing “loud” and “violent” noises from Liam Payne’s room before his tragic death. The 31 year old fell from a third-floor balcony on Wednesday evening, just after 5pm local time. The former One Direction member was holidaying in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who left two days before his death, as they both attended ex-bandmate Niall Horan’s concert. Over a week post-concert, he was alone in the CasaSur hotel when he tragically fell 14 metres from his balcony onto an internal patio area. A call from the hotel manager about a guest “intoxicated by drugs and alcohol… trashing the room” was made to the police, shortly before the devastating fall.

Speaking to the BBC following the shocking event, fellow hotel guest Doug Jones said: “I thought they were working on the room. There was a lot of noise, like heavy lifting, like banging, a lot of loud, violent noises, I thought.” Doug then noticed hotel staff entering the suite where Liam Payne is believed to have been staying. He added: “I saw hotel people going in and out of that room, so I thought they were doing work on the room.” However, the loud noises resumed, “So about 4pm, 4.30pm, I started hearing some more noise, I was still doing work,” he said. “I heard a really loud, violent scream around 4.45pm, 5pm,” reports the Mirror.

The police showed up just before 5 pm and heard a loud noise from the hotel courtyard as they arrived. Shortly after, a tourist described the scene as “road full of cops,” painting a vivid picture of the chaos that unfolded Wednesday evening. Sharing more details, the head of the local ambulance service revealed to TN: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel. “There is an internal courtyard where the victim fell, with tables and chairs: the hotel’s confectionery shop operates there. The space has a retractable roof that was open at the time. Fortunately, there were no other people there.” On Thursday night, Liam’s former One Direction bandmates took to social media to pay tribute to the Wolverhampton born singer. In a joint statement, Louis, Harry, Niall and Zayn shared: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnLiam PayneOne Direction
