Privacy NoticeHollywood actor Gabriel Olds, 52, has been accused of rape and other sexual assaults in Los Angeles. The actor was charged on 19 July after several women came forward, and was taken into custody on Wednesday 7 August after the Los Angeles Superior Court issued a warrant for his arrest. According to KTLA , authorities said that on 19 January 2023, a woman reported to police that Gabriel Olds had raped her at her home in Los Angeles. “Two additional adult victims later came forward and made similar reports dating back to 2013, describing consensual dating encounters that descended into violent sexual assault,” the police statement said. “His victims reported that he used his status as an Ivy League alumnus with success in the film industry to meet women and arrange dates,” the Los Angeles Police Department said. “Each victim reported that Olds lured them into a false sense of security during their initial encounters, then turned violent without seeking their consent.” Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Olds was charged with seven counts of sexual assault but police believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. Detective Brent Hopkins, a Special Assault Section supervisor, said: “We heard the same story again and again. Mr. Olds started off charming but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he’s off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard.” Police added that they believe Olds may have met other women via dating apps in recent years. Currently, three women have been identified as having been assaulted by the actor and two more who said they experienced less violent conduct. Gabriel Olds, a graduate of Yale University, was born in New York and began his acting career in the city at the Public Theater at the age of 15. One of his first screen roles was as a student who murdered his father in the long running crime series Law & Order, when he was 20 years old. The actor has also appeared on Broadway in Any Given Day and A View from the Bridge and had guest roles in TV series including Charmed, Six Feet Under, Cold Case, Medium and Private Practice. He also had a recurring role in NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
