Privacy NoticeJorgie Porter is bravely battling a painful pregnancy condition. The Hollyoaks star has candidly shared her struggles with her latest pregnancy ailment in a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday 23 July. As she gears up to welcome her bundle of joy with her beau Oliver Piotrowski, Jorgie revealed she’s been hit with “lightning crotch,” a term that’s as electrifying as it sounds, referring to the intense pelvic, rectal, or vaginal pains that can strike during pregnancy, according to baby care experts Pampers. Opening up about the rarely-discussed pregnancy woe, the 36 year old actress asked her followers: “Why don’t more women talk about this in pregnancy? Minding my own business, trying to go about my day… then bam! I had totally forgotten alllll about this. What other pregnancy symptoms did no one warn you about?” It was only in May that the much-loved Hollyoaks actress spilled the beans about expecting again, making the announcement on ITVBe’s Drama Queens. Taking to Instagram to spread the joy, Jorgie posted an adorable reveal video featuring her fiance, their little boy Forest, their pet dog, and a cleverly hidden baby scan photo, alongside the sweet caption: “We’ve been keeping a little secret.”

Jorgie has candidly shared her dreams of a big family and the heartache of her past miscarriage. The actress, who welcomed baby boy Forest in December 2022, has always been vocal about wanting a “football team” of kids, reports the Mirror. On the revealing podcast Drama Queens, Jorgie and her partner Oliver pondered the possibility of expanding their brood. In a particularly moving episode, Jorgie opened up about the devastating loss she suffered in 2021 when she miscarried quadruplets at 14 weeks. Reflecting on the sensitive subject of having more children, Jorgie said, “For me, talking about babies, I’m like ‘yes, let’s’. But Oliver, it’s a bit more of a tentative subject because he obviously knows the past situations, what we went through, and also the risks. I was high risk.” Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

She continued with raw emotion, “I could have literally died, and the doctors were telling him that…” before confessing, “Oh, I get sad, because I think about him.” She further revealed her feelings of isolation, saying, “Also, I’ve got no one else to talk to about it. Because I’ve had no one go through… I never met another quad mum, and I’m actually probably a bit more upset for the loss of them now. Whereas at the time, it made more sense, but… it’s… when you think, ‘aw, there could have been a football team.'” Reflecting on a tough personal experience, Jorgie revealed to The Mirror: “My miscarriage was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through in my life. None of the doctors knew why it happened. I had four times the hormones, and then afterwards, the feeling of being pregnant never went away. Ollie and I had felt so ready to be parents. I just didn’t understand how it could be taken away.” She added: “There is no pain like it, and it was the same for Ollie. Some think, ‘It’s the woman’s body,’ but that’s not true. If anything, it makes the male partner feel he can’t be upset. So it’s important to talk about it.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
