Privacy Notice Helen George has been busy soaking up the sun while spending some much-deserved time off away from filming the latest series of Call The Midwife. With many parts of the UK enjoying warm weather, the BBC actress was among those enjoying the sunny skies in London. In a post uploaded to her Instagram story, 40 year old Helen looked sensational as she sported a boxy red T-shirt which she paired with some denim shorts. Finishing off the look, Helen, who plays nurse Trixie Franklin in the popular show, wore her brunette locks down and kept her make-up natural and radiant.

Having first appeared in Call The Midwife when the show began back in 2012, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant has become a familiar face on our TV screens. At the end of the last series, fans were left wondering whether Helen would make a return to the show after her character Trixie decided to join her husband Matthew in New York. However, the actress confirmed her return in April when she reshared an Instagram post by the show’s make-up supervisor with the caption: “Series 14 awaits… @callthemidwife.official.”

Meanwhile, the Call The Midwife team have also given a peek at the upcoming series as they filmed scenes for the upcoming Christmas special. Giving a glimpse behind the scenes, the show’s Instagram page shared a snap of Georgie Glen, who plays Miss Higgins, peeling sprouts. “Hello all! We’ve just got our hands on this photo from the set of the Call the Midwife Christmas Special, which comes to your screens this holiday season 2024! It’s a wonderful behind-the-scenes portrait of our own Georgie Glen, as the redoubtable Miss Higgins,” it read. “But we couldn’t help noticing a great profusion of that most Christmas of British vegetables… SPROUTS! Lots and lots of them!”

Helen has also given fans a look at the upcoming series and revealed that her character had undergone a dramatic makeover. With the show transitioning into the 1970s, so too has Trixie, who fans will soon see sporting a very chic bob. In a snap posted to Instagram in May, Helen showed off the new look as she wore a warm-toned blonde bob which had a curtain fringe.
