Privacy NoticeHarry Potter star Devon Murray, who played the lovable Seamus Finnigan in the hit film franchise, looks completely different now he’s all grown up. The 35 year old has largely stepped away from acting, however, in 2018, he returned to the screen for the comedy Damon & Ivor: The Movie. Instead, he’s been focusing on family life after becoming a dad in January 2021. The Harry Potter actor said his “life changed forever” as he announced the birth of his first son with then-girlfriend Shannon McCaffrey Quinn. As Devon posted the adorable photo on his Instagram page, he shared his joy over the birth of his first child in the caption. Devon wrote alongside the image: “Yesterday 2/1/21 my life changed forever. Shannon delivered our beautiful little boy ‘Cooper Michael Murray’ weighing 6lbs 10oz.”

Giving an update on how mother and son were doing, he continued: “Both are doing amazing now after a very long labour and a scary few minutes at the end. “It still hasn’t sunk in just yet that we have our very own little boy. I can’t wait to make the most amazing memories with Shannon and Cooper as we begin our little family.” Devon also praised Shannon as he gushed: “I’m so amazed by Shannon and she is now my Hero. I’m so proud of her for everything she has gone through.

“I can’t wait to have you both home. It’s so hard having to leave you both. I will love you both forever until my last breathe” [sic] followed by a red heart emoji, baby bottle emoji and baby emoji. While Devon and Shannon continue to co-parent three year old Cooper, it appears the pair have split and Devon has moved on. The actor regularly shares snaps with his new partner, mum of one Casey, with the pair even getting matching tattoos.

Fans were quick to notice Devon was no longer with Shannon, commenting: “New girlfriend?” while another wrote: “Aaaw she is so beautiful. You both look so cute together.” Devon previously opened up about his battle with depression, and revealed he even once contemplated taking his own life when his self-confidence was at an “all-time low”. He said: “All these friends could have supported me but I blocked them out, I didn’t want them to see how low I was. I didn’t want them to look at me any differently. It was the worst thing I could have done, because they could have been there for me. It was something that was eating me away. I was a mess. I’d felt like I let down my parents, that I couldn’t do anything right, I was pointless, I was just a disaster,” he said.

Devon has seemingly moved on from Shannon with his new girlfriend

“Come April, I was stood in a barn, where I’d cleaned out the horse’s stables, I’d turned them out into the fields, and I had a rope. I threw it over one of the bannisters in the barn. And I was pretty much getting ready to hang myself… I’d had thoughts before, but never to the extent of getting everything ready. “I texted my mum and my dad. I can’t remember exactly what I said to them, but it was me asking for help, without actually asking for help. “I was in bits. I was telling them how sorry I was for everything that I’d done, everything I’d messed up on. I felt like I was messing up their lives. I was saying sorry for all this, and they must have known something was seriously up. “I completely regret not saying what I was feeling when I was 16. Harry Potter was the best thing in my life but in a sense turned into the worst times of my life.” The low points came at the same time as a court case with his former manager, who Devon was ordered to pay £210,000 to in unpaid feeds in April 2016.
