Privacy NoticeBBC MasterChef star Gregg Wallace has taken to social media to address accusations he “made inappropriate sexual comments” on the quiz show Impossible Celebrities, and also removed his top in front of an employee in 2018. He has also been accused of being insulting to some women behind the scenes during filming of Inside The Factory last year. Gregg posted a video on Instagram on Sunday that has since been updated on Monday 14 October, in which he addressed the allegations. He said: “The story that’s hitting the newspapers, this was investigated promptly, when it happened, six years ago by the BBC, and the outcome of that was that I hadn’t said anything sexual.”

He continued: “Despite what the newspapers are suggesting, nobody six years ago accused me of flirting with anybody or hitting on anybody and the reason I say this is because of my wife, Anna. “I have always been true to my wife Anna and have never flirted or hit on anybody in the 12 years that I met her and fell in love with her and it’s important that people don’t misunderstand that, that I am true to my wife.” A source told The Sun that some were questioning why Gregg has been allowed to continue on MasterChef following the more recent allegations, but added that the BBC took immediate action following the Impossible Celebrities complaint. They said:“Gregg was called in to have a meeting with them. He made it clear that he didn’t mean anything by what he said but he was read the riot act and told to change his behaviour.” Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

However, the star stepped down from Inside The Factory in 2023 following further complaints that he had been “rude towards staff and continued to talk in a derogatory manner, especially to women,” during filming at a factory in York. The BBC have previously commented: “Whilst we do not comment on individuals, if issues are raised they are dealt with swiftly and appropriately at the time. We do not tolerate any form of inappropriate behaviour and have robust processes in place.” OK! has also contacted Gregg Wallace’s representatives for comment.
