Charlotte Hawkins:
This photo is from primary school, I think I must have been around 6. I loved school
back then, and made some really good friends. The message I would tell my
younger self is dont worry, keep working hard and you will get that dream job! To mark the beginning of a new academic year, some of the presenters from the ITV show have shared throwback photos from their time at school – and they look completely different to how they are now. Ahead of the presenters returning for the autumn on Monday, September 2, the likes of Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins have unveiled unseen snaps from their school years. In one snap, an old photo showed Susanna sitting on a step alongside a cuddly toy while another throwback photo showed Charlotte smiling for the camera as she wore a green cardigan.

“This photo is from primary school, I think I must have been around 6. I loved school back then, and made some really good friends,” explained Charlotte. “The message I would tell my younger self is don’t worry, keep working hard and you will get that dream job.” Meanwhile, in another snap, a young Richard Madeley could be seen in a yellow and black rugby kit as he held a ball in one hand. Addressing his younger self, the TV icon told his former self “don’t take yourself seriously” and to “chill” a little.

Richard Arnold and Adil Ray also shared pictures from their childhood, with Adil explaining that secondary school was a “really tough” time for him. “School isn’t always the best of times for some people, and not everyone can come out with shiny A-level results and lots of great A’s and B’s but that doesn’t mean it’s the be-all and end-all,” he said. “So I would say, for those who are a bit like me at school, don’t worry about it – it will all turn out okay.”

The photos come after Susanna opened up about her return to the ITV show following her summer break and revealed how she’d spent some of her time away from our screens. “I have been going for 10 years and it was amazing to really enjoy it with my boys now they are old enough to go clubbing. We go to the day clubs together and then I go back to the hotel and they go to the nightclubs,” she said. And as she makes her return, she isn’t worried about the early alarm in the morning. “My body clock is so attuned to the early starts that I naturally wake at 3.40am even during the summer. I am able to go back to sleep very easily, but I also find it very easy to get up for work,” she added.
