Privacy NoticeGood Morning Britain fans had a lot to say as Richard Madeley made his comeback on the popular ITV breakfast show after an extended break. On Monday, 14 October’s episode, regular host Susanna Reid was joined by co-presenter Richard, who had been away from GMB for several weeks. During his absence, viewers saw a variety of hosts including Ed Balls and Martin Lewis step in, while Kate Garraway shared presenting duties with TV judge, Rob Rinder. Upon his return, Richard dived straight into the day’s agenda, teasing what was coming up on the show – though his return left viewers at home divided.

Disappointed,” reports the Manchester Evening News. Another added: “Richard Madeley co-presenting? No thanks @GMB.” However, some fans were excited to see the ‘dream team’ reunited, with one commenting: “I So lovely to see Richard back this week with Susanna first time in weeks. @richardm56 and @susannareid100 welcome back Richard.” One fan couldn’t contain their excitement, exclaiming: “So happy to see the best dream team back Richard and Susanna @susannareid100 and.@richardm56.” Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

This comes after Richard recently opened up about his future on GMB, insisting he has no plans to leave his day job anytime soon. “I am very happy to say on GMB as long as they want me. At some point I’m going to be too bloody old – I’m 68! “t some stage either I will think or ITV will think maybe the times come. But hopefully that will be for a few years yet, because I don’t feel 68,” he told The Sun.

Richard also spoke to the publication about his experience on the show, firmly denying any rumours of a feud with co-host Susanna Reid. He added: “I wouldn’t get up at four in the f****** morning two weeks out of four, Monday to Thursday, if I didn’t enjoy it. I don’t need to do it. My career arch as it were, is behind me.” During the interview, the TV icon also revealed that he was “really lucky” to be paired with Susanna as he believed that they were both journalistically “very similar”.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
