Privacy Notice Zoe Ball’s son Woody Cook has revealed that he and his mum are looking to team up as a mother and son TV presenting duo following their success on Celebrity Gogglebox. And the new project could help pave the way for Woody to appear on some of TV’s biggest shows – including Strictly Come Dancing, which the 23-year-old admits he’d “love” to take part in. Radio 2 DJ Zoe and her son have been a big hit on Gogglebox, with their easy chemistry as they comment on the latest TV offerings impressing TV bosses according to The Sun. Meanwhile, the pair seems keen to work alongside each other.

With the success of father and son team Bradley and Barney Walsh on shows such as Breaking Dad and Gladiators, TV bosses are keen to sign them up. “Me and my mum keep being pitched for really cool stuff,” Woody reveals. “The industry is so hard, but we’ll get there. I’m excited for whatever we end up landing on.” A TV insider added: “Zoe and Woody are in big demand, and they would like to work on new projects together. A mother and son presenting team is fairly rare on British television so they can bring something different. They’re bang up for it.”

Woody, who has been working as a DJ at festivals, has two celeb parents – his dad is superstar DJ Fatboy Slim. The aspiring DJ recently performed a gig on Brighton seafront, which saw his parents come together to support him. Woody has already appeared on reality show The Circle in 2019, ITV series Cooking With The Stars in 2022 and in Danny Dyer’s recent Channel 4 documentary How To Be A Man. He and Zoe have appeared together on the sofa on Celebrity Gogglebox since 2020. Fronting his own show with his mum seems a great way for Woody to further raise his profile and would be a stepping stone to greater success in his music career. While more reality TV shows have undoubtedly come knocking on his door, Woody is keen to prove his credentials before he takes them on, wanting to be known more on his own right before he tackles the likes of Strictly.

He says: “I don’t want to be the guy from the celeb circuit. At the moment it would put me in danger of being ‘someone’s son’, rather than standing on my own two feet.” “Things like Strictly and Big Brother I would love to do but only once I’m known for making something, music or festivals.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
