Privacy NoticeGood Morning Britain’s latest episode left viewers reaching for the remote, with calls flooding in for Ed Balls to be given the boot from the show. The outrage came hot on the heels of a fiery encounter between Ed and Labour MP Zarah Sultana that drew a staggering 8,200 Ofcom complaints earlier this week. Fans didn’t hold back on social media, with one dismayed viewer posting: “This must be the worst pairing possible on the desk. She screams and interrupts he is totally out of his depth please please replace.” Others joined the chorus of discontent: “Why these two again? Boring, boring, boring,” griped one, while another asked pointedly, “Why is Ed Balls still on GMB?” The feelings of exasperation continued to echo with comments like: “You are so predictable and boring get shot of Ed,” reports the Mirror. Another viewer expressed their discomfort: “I have to switch off. The glee oozing from Balls’ while talking about limiting free speech and people being arrested and charged is sickening,” while someone else said they had reached their limit: “Me too, can’t watch this anymore.”

Questions about accountability were raised by another fan: “Watching #GMB where Kate Garraway and Ed Balls desperately try to pretend they haven’t been part of the problem. How many days ago did you ridicule #ZaraSultana?” Calls for change resonated across Twitter: “#GMB have you sacked Kate Garraway and Ed no balls yet? #boycottGMB if they don’t go,” fumed a viewer. The Monday conversation that caused such uproar culminated with Kate pointing out to the MP: “We have to ask you questions as well,” as Ed interjected: “And if you want to, you can answer them, it’s your call.”

The tension was palpable as Ed and Ms Sultana clashed, with the MP snapping back: “I’m going to wait for Kate to finish her question if that’s alright,” countered by Ed’s challenge: “If you want to answer the questions, you can but you don’t have to.” Kate further probed the Labour MP on her choice of words, asking: “Why is it important for you to use that specific word ‘Islamophobic’? It’s been called racist, it’s been called thuggery,” which led to Ed cutting in: “They definitely said racist over the weekend.” When Ms Sultana pointed out that mosques had been attacked over the weekend, Ed interrupted: “But Starmer has condemned that.” Frustrated, the GMB guest pushed back, saying: “I’m just finishing the question if that’s okay.” Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
