Richard said: “Ten years ago, I was down and out. I never, ever thought I’d get my life together. I never ever thought I’d be able to rectify myself for what had happened to me and get myself back on my feet again. And then here I am just over a decade later picking up one of the biggest writing awards in television. “I don’t know much about this life, I don’t know why we’re here none of that. But I do know nothing lasts forever and no matter how bad it gets, it always gets better. So if you’re struggling, keep going, keep going and I promise you things will be ok.” The critically acclaimed show also clinched the title of Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, while Jessica Gunning triumphed as the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. The Bear was another show to shine on the night as they secured four wins and set a new record for the most wins in a single season for a comedy with 11 – that’s one more than its previous record in 2023. The show’s success was bolstered by Christopher Storer’s win for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, while stars Jeremy Allen White, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Ebon Moss-Bacharach each took home acting honours, adding to the seven awards from the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Despite its success, The Bear faced an unexpected snub, missing out on the Outstanding Comedy Series award, which went to Hacks. Jean Smart of Hacks secured the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series title and humorously remarked: “Thank you so so much. it’s very humbling, it really is, and I appreciate this because I just don’t get enough attention! I’m serious.”
