More infoJoin us on WhatsApp Emmerdale fans are keeping their fingers crossed for the return of Kelly Windsor to the popular ITV soap, as young April Windsor goes through a distressing period. April, who had been concealing her pregnancy, vanished over the festive season and was recently discovered in Leeds after tragically experiencing a stillbirth in a gym toilet following weeks of homelessness. After recuperating in hospital, April made her way back to the Dales where she’s being comforted by her family and friends – all of whom are aware of her devastating loss. However, it’s evident that April is still grappling with her past trauma, while her father Marlon Dingle is doing his best to help her readjust to village life. In light of these heart-wrenching scenes, soap fans have been yearning for the reappearance of April’s aunt, Kelly Windsor, and uncle Scott Windsor. Kelly and Scott are the siblings of April’s late mother Donna Windsor, making them her aunt and uncle, reports Leicestershire Live.

Adele Silva, who portrayed Kelly Windsor, bid farewell to the hit ITV soap in 2011. Adele, now 44, first graced the village in 1993, where she featured intermittently until 2011. Post her departure from the ITV soap, Adele took on roles in Hollyoaks as Angela Brown, the film How To Stop Being A Loser, which starred Richard E. Grant and Martin Compston, Casualty and the gangster flick We Still Kill the Old Way. However, last year it was unveiled that Adele had decided to step away from the limelight to embark on a surprising new career path as a teacher. Having been part of many dramatic storylines, she is now working as a teacher at the National Film and Television School.

Yet, Adele hasn’t closed the door on her soap opera past. In 2022, she hinted at a potential comeback during a chat with The Sun: “I’d definitely go back if they asked me. Obviously Kelly’s son is there and she’s not seen him for years.” “Then there’s little April. You can imagine Marlon’s face if her auntie Kelly turned up. He’d be horrified. My little girl is a bit older now. She’s happy and settled, it’s been great spending time at home with her being a mum.” Emmerdale airs every weekday at 19.30pm on ITV1, ITV X, STV and STV Player with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. It is also available each morning from 07.00am on ITVX.
